D-16. John 1:2,3 The BIBLICAL Unitarian MEANING!

Does John 1:2,3 mean that Jesus is the Creator of everything that exists in the whole Universe? Let us begin part 2 of this series of studies in God’s word on John 1:1-18 by reading John 1:2,3. If you have not read part 1 of this study, then please first read the study called “JOHN 1:1 BIBLICAL UNITARIAN MEANING!”

Here is John 1:2,3.

“The same was in the beginning with God. 

3.  All things were made by him; and without him, was not anything made, that was made.”

As you have already learned in part 1 of this study, there are four main interpretations of John 1:1. For those of you who have not yet read part 1, I will repeat those four interpretations, but I suggest that you read all of part 1 first, and then come back to read part 2.

INTERPRETATION #1.

The Word in John 1:1 is the preexisting Son of God who is Almighty God Himself, as in, the Word is Almighty God the SON, the second person of a Trinity Godhead. And thus, the Word never had ANY kind of beginning because Almighty God Himself has always existed without any kind of beginning. Therefore, the Word made flesh in John 1:14 means that Almighty God the SON became flesh. And thus, Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh having two natures at the SAME time, one divine, and one human.

This “interpretation” is just one of many different Christian doctrines and it is known as doctrine of the Trinity and the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus having two natures at the same time during the days of his flesh.

INTERPRETATION #2.

The Word in John 1:1 is Almighty God Himself who has always existed as ONE God in ONE person, who alone is the FATHER. Therefore, the Word made flesh in John 1:14 means that Almighty God the FATHER who ALONE is the ONE true God is ONE person MANIFESTED Himself to become flesh which means that Jesus is Almighty God the FATHER Himself in the flesh.

This “interpretation” is just one of many different Christian doctrines and it is known as the Oneness Pentecostal doctrine called the Oneness doctrine. It is also known as modalism which teaches that the Father can MANIFEST Himself in different MODES of existences. And thus, the Father can exist up in heaven as the Father, exist down on the earth in the FORM of a man, and exist everywhere at the same time as the Holy Spirit. And therefore, Jesus is NOT truly a SEPARATE person from the Father because God is only ONE being in ONE person who alone is the FATHER. So when you get to heaven, you will only see ONE being sitting on the throne and his name is Jesus.

INTERPRETATION #3.

The Word in John 1:1 is a SEPARATE being who came into being in the ETERNITY PAST who was with God at His side. And thus, the Word has always been WITH the ONE TRUE God in ONE person for all eternity past. But since the Word came into existence, then the Word cannot be Almighty God Himself because God has always existed having no beginning. Therefore, the Word is “a” God, who had his BEGINNING in the eternity past. And thus, the Word is a lesser God the Son who became flesh. In other word, a lesser God the Son named the Word has always been WITH the one true God, but he is NOT THE Almighty God Himself.

This “interpretation” is just one of many different Christian doctrines and it is known as one of the many different “oneness” of God doctrines. This interpretation is taught primarily by the Jehovah’s Witness Christians, but there are other Christians who believe that the Son of God CAME INTO EXISTENCE in the eternity past. And thus, they teach that the one true God who alone is the FATHER created the Word FIRST and then the Word created everything else, according to their “interpretation” of Colossians 1:15-17.

INTERPRETATION #4.

The Word in John 1:1 should have never been capitalized to make it SEEM as if it is a literal preexisting being or separate person who was WITH Almighty God at His side in the eternity past. And thus, the Word should be understood as the word in the MIND of God that was WITHIN the ONE true God in ONE person who alone is the Father as God’s THOUGHTS. Therefore, the “word” with a lowercase “w” is the SPOKEN word of PROPHECY in John 1:1. And thus, the word in John 1:1 c is a PROPHECY that came into existence as “A” God under and subject to his God and Father.

But FIRST, the word, as in, the spoken word of prophecy was MADE flesh just as John 1:14 states as a fact with no interpretation needed. And AFTER the cross, the HUMAN Son of MAN, Jesus, was HIGHLY EXALTED to be MADE Lord to rule as God FOR Yahweh the Father in the NAME OF the Father for ONLY 1000 years. And then, after the 1000 year reign, Jesus will step down from ruling and commit the Kingdom back into his God and Father’s hands so that Almighty God the Father can be all in all, according to 1 Corinthians 15:20-28.

This “interpretation” is just one of many different Christian doctrines and it is known as BIBLICAL Unitarianism. And there have always been Biblical Unitarian Christians from the very beginning of the church, but they were called by different names. In fact, Jesus is a Biblical Unitarian as well. For you see, Jesus always referred to God as being his God.

Again, as I have said many times in other studies, I was taught interpretation number 1 from a child. But after reading the Bible for myself, I now believe interpretation number 4 to be the SOUND Biblical interpretation of John 1:1-18 because it agrees with every single verse of Scripture in the Bible.

And thus, I named this series of studies in John chapter 1 the BIBLICAL UNITARIAN MEANING!

So then, the Biblical Unitarian meaning of John 1:2,3 is that the Greek word translated as the English word “same” in verse 2 is referring back to the Greek word “logos” that is INCORRECTLY translated as the “Word” with a capital “W”.  The Greek word translated as the English word “same” also means he, she, and it. Now in the older translation this Greek word was translated as the pronoun “it”  referring back to the word which was NOT capitalized. But in modern translations the word is now capitalized and the pronoun “he” is used instead of the pronoun “it”. And to ME, the capitalizing word to be “Word” with a capital “W” and then referring back to it using the pronoun “he” can mislead Christians to wrongly  believe that the “logos” is a literal person who was with THE God at God’s side in the eternity past. But, in TRUTH, the “logos” should have never been capitalized anywhere in the Bible, in my own opinion. And it should never be referred to as a “he”. For you see, the word is always either the SPOKEN word of PROPHECY or the WRITTEN word of God which is an “it” and NEVER a person.

In other words, Almighty God Himself is the Creator who created everything that exists by SPEAKING His word of PROPHECY out from His mouth. And then, Yahweh alone and by Himself watches over His word of prophecy to PERFORM it to bring it to pass. So to me, the Biblical Unitarian meaning of the LOGOS in John 1:1 is the spoken word of prophecy that was in a beginning after the earth became void and empty, and the word of prophecy was TOWARD the God as having an END goal. And the end goal of that word of prophecy was a God to come into being to rule as God FOR the God in the NAME OF the God for ONLY 1000 years in the world to come. So then, the END PURPOSE for why God sent His word to be MADE flesh. Jesus was asked if he was a King and Jesus said, to this END was I BORN. God will judge the world by the MAN who He ORDAINED and raised from the DEAD. And to me, an eternal God cannot DIE.

And with that interpretation in mind, let us read John 1:2,3 again with some comments added to explain the Biblical Unitarian meaning of John 1:1-18 in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

John 1:2,3.

“The SAME (Speaking of the spoken word of PROPHECY) was in the (Or in a) beginning WITH (Or TOWARD) God. (In other words, the spoken word of prophecy was in a beginning after the earth became void and empty the spoken word of PROPHECY was TOWARD God as a GOAL which God had in His mind as His PLAN of salvation. And the end goal is a God coming into existence to be in the FORM of God who will not even THING to taking by force to be equal to the only true true like Lucifer did)

3.  ALL things were made by him; (Or more precisely, the ALL were made THROUGH the SAME, the spoken word of PROPHECY that was FULFILLED to become God’s Messiah. ALL is referring to the ALL who believe in Jesus to be created by God as NEW creatures created in Jesus) and WITHOUT him (The word of prophecy being fulfilled to bring forth God’s Christ or God’s Messiah) was not ANY thing made, that was made.”

Now EVERY Christian, to my knowledge, agrees that there is just ONE true God who is the Creator of everything that exists. And every Christian, to my knowledge, agrees that God SPOKE everything into existence and that ONLY the Creator Himself has always existed without ever having a beginning.

And MOST Christians are aware that God is in the PROCESS of CREATING a PEOPLE in the image of His Son and in His own image as well to be made NEW CREATURES that are created in His Son, Jesus Christ. So then, the Biblical Unitarian meaning of the Greek word “pros” that is translated as ALL things in verse 3 is the ALL of whosoever BELIEVES to be created by Almighty God the Father to become God’s NEW CREATURES who He Himself created in His Son Jesus. For you see, the English word “things” is NOT in the original Greek text, and that is why I have MINIMIZED or de-emphasized the word “things” by using light green font color. So John 1:3 should never be interpreted to mean that Jesus created the entire universe for God the Father. Jesus is NOT the Creator. It is Almighty God the Father who is the Creator, NOT the Son of God.

Please read the following verses of Scripture. 

2 Corinthians 5:17.  

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATURE: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Galatians 6:15.  

“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a NEW CREATURE.”

Ephesians 2:10.  

“For we are His workmanship, CREATED in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained (Or that God PROPHESIED) that we should walk in them.”

Ephesians 4:24.  

“And that you put on the new man, which after God (Or which is in the IMAGE OF God) is CREATED in righteousness and true holiness.”

So then, the PURPOSE of PROPHECY is for Yahweh Himself to CREATE a PEOPLE in righteousness and true holiness. And then God will use His WITNESSES to JUDGE the ANGELS, as in, to judge Satan and the fallen angels for their rebellion against God before God created the human race. Please read the studies under the heading >>>Q-0.WHY ARE WE HERE?-IS GOD AT WAR?<<< But for now, here is the PROPHECY of people who SHALL be CREATED.

Psalm 102:18.  

“This shall be written for the generation to come: and the PEOPLE (Speaking of the ALL of whosoever believes in God’s Messiah) which SHALL be CREATED shall praise the LORD.”

So to ME, John 1:2,3 is referring to God’s NEW CREATION of righteous people that Almighty God Himself created and is still yet creating in Christ Jesus His Son. And WITHOUT the word of PROPHECY being made FLESH by God PERFORMING His own word of prophecy that He spoke forth out from His own mouth, then not one new creature would have ever been made, that is made. So with God’s NEW CREATURES created in Jesus Christ in mind, let us now read my own paraphrased version of John 1:2,3.

My own paraphrased version of John 1:2,3.

“The spoken word of prophecy was in a beginning after the earth became void and empty to become inhabitable, and the word of prophecy was TOWARD the God.

3. And the ALL of whosoever believes to be created in Jesus Christ came to be made. BUT APART from Jesus, God’s Christ, who came into being by the word of prophecy being made flesh, then not one of the ALL that has been created in Jesus Christ would have ever been made a NEW CREATURE who has been and shall be created by Almighty God the Father in righteousness and true holiness BECAUSE of the obedience of His human Son, Jesus.”

This is what is TOWARD God as His END GOAL to be fulfilled and brought to pass. So, to me, John 1:2,3 does NOT prove that Jesus is the Creator of everything that exists. To me, the one true and only Almighty God is ONE God in ONE person who ALONE is the FATHER and the only Creator. And thus, the word in John 1:1 is the spoken word of PROPHECY that came out from the mouth of the Creator that the Creator Himself MADE flesh, and NOT that the Creator Himself became flesh.

The Bible itself teaches us that Jesus was made in the IMAGE OF his God and Father to become the FIRSTBORN of every CREATURE. Now, the Greek word translated as “creature” also means CREATION. So, to me, Colossians 1:15 means that Jesus was made in the image of God to become the firstborn of every NEW creature by becoming the FIRSTBORN from the DEAD to be the BEGINNING OF the CREATION of God’s PEOPLE that was PROPHESIED to be created in future generations, according to Psalm 102:18 that we just read above. 

Again, the English words “things” and “thing” in John 1:3 are NOT in the original Greek text. Please read the LITERAL translation by clicking on the link to see the original Greek text.

Here is the translation of the LITERAL translation of John 1:3.

“ALL through same came to be and APART from same came to be not YET ONE which has come to be.” 

In other words, there were NO new creatures made UNTIL after the Son of MAN, Jesus was MADE both Lord and Christ after the cross and resurrection. So then, the Biblical Unitarian meaning of John 1:2,3 is that Jesus came into existence at the virgin birth as the FULFILLMENT of PROPHECY made FLESH. Then the human Son of MAN, Jesus, was ANOINTED with God’s Holy Spirit and POWER, according to Acts 10:38 at his baptism. And during the ministry of Jesus, God DWELT IN the Son of MAN, Jesus, to be WITH His human Son, as the fulfillment of the prophecy, Emanuel, God with us. And then, after the cross, the human Son of God was DECLARED to be the Son of God with POWER, according to Romans 1:3,4, by the RESURRECTION. So then, according to the Bible itself, it was after the cross that the human Son of God was MADE both Lord and Christ, as the Scriptures clearly state in Acts 2:36.

So, to ME, John 1:1 c is a PROPHECY that was FULFILLED after the cross and resurrection to bring into existence a God under and subject to his God to replace Lucifer. For you see, after Jesus came to be in the FORM of God he did NOT even THINK to take by FORCE to be equal to God like Lucifer did eons before God ever created man a little LOWER than the angels. And thus, the Greek word translated as “WITH” the God in both John 1:1 and John 1:2 should have been translated as TOWARD the God as God’s END PURPOSE to come to pass. Here is how E-Sword defines the Greek word “pros” that in my own opinion should be translated as TOWARD as opposed to being translated as “with” God.

Total KJV occurrences: 695.

And the END of prophecy clearly teaches us that a MAN was highly exalted to BECOME a God under and subject to his God and Father to rule AS God over the earth for ONLY 1000 years in PEACE. And all of this is being done so THAT the ONE Godhead in ONE person can JUDGE the world BY the MAN that He ORDAINED and raised from the dead, according to Acts 17:29-31. So again, to me, John 1:1 does NOT prove that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh. And John 1:2,3 does NOT prove that Jesus is the Creator of everything that exists.

But rather, John 1:2,3 proves that THE Almighty God the FATHER is the Creator ALONE who created ALL people including His Son Jesus. And whosoever BELIEVES in Jesus is regenerated to be created in the IMAGE of His Christ that He Himself MADE His perfect express image first. And Jesus was made in the IMAGE OF the invisible God AFTER the cross and resurrection to become Almighty God the Father’s Lord and Christ after the cross and resurrection. For you see, God is the HEAD of Jesus Christ. The Christ BELONGS to Almighty God the Father who is the God OF Jesus.
