D-20. John 1L14-18 The BIBLICAL Unitarian Meaning!

JOHN 1:14-18 BIBLICAL UNITARIAN MEANING!

Does John 1:14-18 proved that Almighty God Himself became FLESH? Let us begin part 6 of this series of studies on John 1:1-18 by reading John 1:14-18 without any comments. John 1:14-18.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 

15.  John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spoke, He that comes after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 

16.  And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 

17.  For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 

18.  No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.”

Now, Oneness Pentecostal Christians “interpret” the Word in John 1:14 as being the spoken word of PROPHECY that was WITHIN the Almighty God. And THEY believe that God manifested Himself to become flesh but yet REMAIN the fully Almighty God. And thus, to them, Jesus was fully Almighty God Himself in the flesh having TWO natures at the SAME time DURING the days of his flesh, one DIVINE, and one human. In other words, they believe that Jesus IS the Father Himself and that Jesus is NOT a distinct separate person of his OWN apart from the Father..

And Trinitarian Christians “interpret” the Word in John 1:14 as being a preexisting Son of God who has always existed as God the Son, the second person of a Trinity Godhead. And to them, God the Son incarnated himself in the flesh or God incarnated His Son to be made flesh. Either way, they believe that an eternal preexisting Son of God, having NO beginning, was sent down from heaven to be manifested as Almighty God in the flesh. And thus, to them, Jesus was fully Almighty God Himself in the flesh having TWO natures at the SAME time DURING the days of his flesh, one DIVINE, and one human.

And SOME Oneness Christians “interpret” the Word as being the CREATED Son of God in the eternity past who God sent down from heaven to be manifested in the flesh. And within this group of Christians, SOME believe that the Son was made 100% flesh having NO divine nature during the days of his flesh. For example, the Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that God’s Son came into existence in the eternity past.

But yet other Oneness Christians who believe that God’s son was begotten in the eternity past DISGREE with the teaching that Jesus had NO DIVINE nature during the days of his FLESH. In other words, THEY believe that the Word made flesh means that Jesus was fully Almighty God and fully human at the SAME time during the days of his flesh having TWO natures at the SAME time, one divine and one human. And thus, they believe very similarly to the Oneness Pentecostal Christians and the Trinitarian Christian with the exception that Jesus is NOT EQUAL to Almighty God the Father.

Now, Biblical Unitarian Christians “interpret” the Word in John 1:1 as being God word of PROPHECY. And thus, the it was the word of PROPHECY that was FULFILLED or performed BY Almighty God to be made FLESH. Therefore, Jesus is the WORKMANSHIP OF his God and Father. So then, Biblical Unitarian Christians believe and teach that God’s Son CAME into existence for the first time at the virgin birth of Jesus by God fulfilling His spoken word of PROPHECY. And thus, Jesus was 100% FLESH having NO divine nature DURING the days of his FLESH. And then, the Son of MAN, Jesus, was made a partaker of the DIVINE NATURE of immortality after the cross and resurrection.

Let us go ahead and read the PROPHECY of both the days of the flesh of Jesus AND the days of Jesus during the world to come. And while you are reading this prophecy, please notice the ORDER in which the events are prophesied to come to pass.

Please read Isaiah 9:6,7.

 

“For (Order of event #1 that has already been FULFILLED) unto us, a CHILD is BORN, (THEN comes Order of event #2 that has also already been FULFILLED) unto us a son is given: (Speaking of the HUMAN Son of MAN, Jesus as the Son given as the ONE sacrifice for the sins of the world. Yahweh provided His own Lamb that was slain in the mind of God from the foundation of the world. God chose His Lamb to be made inferior to the angels so He made the human race a little lower than the angelic beings) and (And THEN Order of event #3 is YET FUTURE and it is YET TO BE FULFILLED) the government shall be upon his shoulder: (Which is the WRATH of God executed by Jesus. That is WHEN the kingdoms of this present world will become the kingdom of God’s dear Son to begin the 1000 year reign of Jesus) and ( And THEN will come Order of event #4 that is YET FUTURE and it is YET TO BE FULFILLED WHEN the government will be set upon the shoulder of Jesus IN the world to come. And at that TIME of the second coming of Jesus to begin the world to come) his NAME shall be CALLED Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, (Or more precisely, according to Hebrew 5:9, the father of everlasting life or the AUTHOR of eternal life. For you see, it was BECAUSE, OF the Son of man, Jesus obeying his God and Father’s Will, that Jesus made it possible for whosoever believes in him shall be saved. Jesus was MADE perfect and he BECAME the father of eternal life AFTER the cross. For you see, the Son of MAN, Jesus, was GIVEN the authority and the power AFTER the cross to JUDGE and also to give eternal life to whomsoever he chooses. This is why Psalms chapter 2 prophesies to kiss the feet of God’s Son whom He ordained or SET to be His King of kings and Lord of lords. Jesus is also called) The Prince of Peace. (And, according to Revelation 1:5, Jesus is our Prince right now standing at the right hand of God. But at his second coming, Jesus will SIT on the right hand of Yahweh to rule and reign FOR Yahweh in Yahweh’s NAME as the Lord of the Sabbath for 1000 years. And at that time, the kingdoms of this present world will become the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. And)

7.  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will PERFORM this.”

 

Also, please notice WHO is doing the PERFORMING of His own spoken word of PROPHECY that came forth OUT FROM His mouth. It is Almighty God Yahweh the creator who is performing His own word. So to me, Jesus is the FULFILLMENT of the spoken word of PROPHECY. Jesus began as a THOUGHT in God’s mind as God’s secret plan of salvation. Not just the salvation of mankind that He had not yet created, but also the RESTORATION of the entire universe back to being at PEACE having no WAR. God created the human race to put an END to evil. So then, I believe that DURING the days of his FLESH, Jesus was 100% a MAN whom his God ANOINTED at the baptism of Jesus. The Greek words that are translated as God SENT His Son almost always means God COMMISSIONED His human Son, Jesus. And the other Greek word means SENDING, as in, Jesus was being LED by the Holy Spirit to go from place to place. The Holy Spirit drove or SENT the human Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted. The word commission means to give power and authority to a person to empower them to accomplish that task that they are called upon to do. And that is one of the meanings of the Greek word translated as Christ. The word Christ means ANOINTED and Messiah or Savior. And Jesus was ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and power from on high AT his baptism in the River Jordan by John the Baptist. And that was WHEN his God sent the Son of MAN, Jesus, into the world to accomplish the task God called him to do. 

According to the prophecy in Isaiah 42:6, Jesus was CALLED to walk in righteousness and not sin. Let us continue reading John 1:15-18 is the LIGHT of the word of PROPHECY being made FLESH without any divine nature during the days of his FLESH. For you see, John 1:14 does NOT say, the word was made flesh AND yet remained fully Almighty God having TWO natures at the SAME time, one divine, and one human. After we read John 1:15-18, we will come back to John 1:14b to discuss that last part of verse 14.

 

John 1:15-18.

 

“John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spoke, He that comes after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. (In other words, Jesus was GENERATED to come into existence as God’s ETERNAL Son after the cross to be ABOVE John the Baptist and above all of his fellows or fellow brethren BECAUSE it was PROPHESIED for him to be the FIRSTBORN of every CREATURE to be made in the IMAGE OF the invisible God)

16.  And OF his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. (Or of the FULNESS that it please God to DWELL IN His human Son, Jesus, after the cross, have we all received. In other words, the Son of MAN, Jesus was GIVEN all power an authority to baptize whosoever BELIEVES out of the FULNESS of God’s Holy Spirit that it pleased to Father to dwell in His now GLORIFIED human Son. And we also receive grace because of grace, in that, we received righteousness because of one man’s righteousness. For you see, it was the Father’s grace to provide us with His Lamb slain in the MIND of God before the foundation of the word. Please understand that the foundation of the world was NOT in the eternity past)

17.  For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 

18.  No man has SEEN God at any time; (This one phrase should prove to all who are truly seeking the TRUTH that Jesus is NOT Almighty God Himself because men HAVE INDEED SEEN Jesus) the only begotten Son, (This is speaking of the only begotten Son from the DEAD to be GIVEN the DIVINE NATURE of immortality to never die again) which is in the bosom of the Father, he has DECLARED him.”

 

And Jesus declared the FATHER to be the ONY TRUE God in John 17:1-3 and that the Son was COMMISSIONED BY his God and Father to be Yahweh the Father’s MESSIAH or the way to eternal life. In other words, we must believe that Jesus is the CHRIST, the Son OF the living God AND that the Father alone is the ONLY TRUE and LIVING God in order to receive eternal life in the world to come.

Now, the Greek word translated as the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son is a COMPOUND Greek word. And that means that it is TWO Greek words put together. Let me show you what I mean. Here is how E-Sword defines the compound Greek word “monogenes”. Notice the TWO Greek word that G3439 comes FROM.

Total KJV occurrences: 9.

 

The first Greek word “monos” means one, or single and right now Jesus is the ONLY begotten Son of God. But the Bible ALSO teaches us that Jesus is the firstborn of MANY brethren. So at the coming of Jesus, we who believe will ALSO be made partakers of the DIVINE NATURE for we shall see Jesus as he IS and not as he was during the days of his FLESH.

Now the second Greek word is “ginomai” Strong’s number G1096 which is the SAME Greek word TRANSLATED as “preferred” in John 1:15 where Jesus is “GINOMAI” before John the Baptist. And here is how E-Sword defines the Greek word “GINOMAI”

A prolonged and middle form of a primary verb; to cause to be (“gen” -erate), that is, (reflexively) to become (come into being), used with great latitude (literally, figuratively, intensively, etc.): – arise be assembled, be (come, -fall, -have self), be brought (to pass), (be) come (to pass), continue, be divided, be done, draw, be ended, fall, be finished, follow, be found, be fulfilled, + God forbid, grow, happen, have, be kept, be made, be married, be ordained to be, partake, pass, be performed, be published, require, seem, be showed, X soon as it was, sound, be taken, be turned, use, wax, will, would, be wrought.

Total KJV occurrences: 672

 

Now, no matter what meaning of the Greek word “ginomai” Strong’s number G1096 that a Christian chooses to use, the Son of God had a BEGINNING to come into being. And therefore, the doctrine of the Trinity THEORY simply does NOT agree with what the Bible ITSELF teaches us in SIMPLICITY. 

And the simple FACT that NO mortal man has SEEN God at ANY time proves to me, that the Oneness Pentecostal doctrine does NOT agree with what the Bible ITSELF teaches us in SIMPLICITY.

And the fact that Acts 13:33,34, and Hebrews 1:5 clearly teach us in SIMPLICITY that Jesus was BEGOTTEN on the DAY that God raised him from the DEAD proves that God’s Son did NOT preexist in the eternity past. And thus, the doctrine of the Jehovah’s Witnesses falls apart as well.

And that is WHY we, as Biblical Unitarian Christians, believe and teach that Jesus is the FULFILLMENT of PROPHECY. And therefore, Jesus is the WORKMANSHIP OF God who prophesied a God to be MANIFESTED in or BECAUSE OF the flesh after His human Son suffered and died on the cross. We just read in the prophecy in Isaiah 9:6,7 that his NAME shall be called the might God WHEN the government is laid on his shoulders. And John 5:26.27 clearly teaches us that Almighty God the Father GAVE His human Son eternal life AND all AUTHORITY to execute judgment BECAUSE he was the Son of MAN, or BECAUSE Jesus was FLESH.

So to ME, God chose to use a MAN made a little LOWER than the angels to JUDGE Lucifer and the fallen angels JUSTLY or FAIRLY for their rebellion to make war against God. For you see, it would not be fair for Almighty God Himself who is far greater than the angels to become His own sacrifice for sins because God cannot not be TEMPTED with evil. And it would not be fair for God to choose an angel to be His Messiah because not ALL of the angels sinned. So God CHOSE to use an INFERIOR species of beings called the humans to be made a little LOWER that the angels to live without sin, violence, and WAR. And even if ONE human lived his life without sin then God can FAIRLY judge Satan and the fallen angels BY that MAN that He Himself ORDAINED and raised from the DEAD, according to Acts 17:29-31.

And that, to ME, is the true sound Biblical meaning of John 1:1-18 as to why Biblical Unitarian Christians believe and teach what the believe. For you see, what Biblical Unitarian Christians teach concerning WHO Jesus is in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of God AGREES with every verse of Scripture in the Bible.

Now, let us go back to 1 John 1:14 to learn WHEN the disciples of Jesus BEHELD the GLORY of Jesus AS the ONLY begotten Son of God.

 

John 1:14.

 

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his GLORY, the glory AS of the only BEGOTTEN of the Father,) FULL of grace and truth.”

 

Now, none of the disciples even knew Jesus when he was a baby. And there is no mention of any of his disciples knowing Jesus when he was a child growing up. So then, it is NOT very likely that the glory that they saw is referring to Jesus BEFORE his baptism. Take a closer look at verse 14 an you can clearly see that the glory being referred to is speaking of the glory AS OF the ONLY BEGOTTEN of the Father. And Jesus was not glorified by his God and Father UNTIL God raised him from the DEAD. And than is WHEN Jesus BECAME the ONLY begotten of the Father. That was when the PROPHECY was FULFILLED that is quoted in Hebrews 1:5.

 

Hebrews 1:5.

 

“For unto which of the angels said he at any time, (The answer is NONE of the angels because God CHOSE to use a MAN made a little LOWER than the angels to be made His Lord and Christ. So God said to His HUMAN Son at his resurrection) You are my Son, THIS DAY have I begotten you? And again, (Or in another PROPHECY, God prophesied) I WILL BE to him a Father, and he SHALL BE to me a Son? ”

Jesus ASCENDED into heaven on the very morning that God raised him from the dead and then descended back down that same evening to show himself alive for forty days. And it was on TAHT DAY that God raised His HUMAN Son from the dead and GAVE him LIFE to be having in himself even as the Father has always possessed life in Himself was the DAY that Jesus became the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of the Father. Jesus is the FULFILLMENT of PROPHECY. Why would God PROPHESY of one day begetting Himself a Son if do be that the Son of God already existed in the eternity past? Please read the three part study “WHEN DID JESUS BECOME GOD’S ETERNAL SON? Part 1” So to us, as Biblical Unitarian Christians, it makes no sense for God to PROPHESY about begetting a Son if so be that His Son was already begotten in the eternity past. So we believe that the Word in John 1:1 should have never been capitalized to imply that the “logos” is a separate person who was with God in the eternity past. We believe that the word in John 1:1 is the SPOKEN word of PROPHECY that was TOWARD the God and that word of prophecy was a God who would JOIN his God and Father on his Father’s throne.

And we believe that the word made flesh in John 1:14 means FLESH just as it says. So to ME, to ADD the INTERPRETATION that the word was made flesh but remained fully God that has NO Scriptures to support it is to ADD to the word of God itself.

Now, I and every Bible teacher adds comments to the word of God to EXPLAIN God’s word. And for every comment or interpretation that I give, I have Scripture to support my opinions. But the two natures at the same time during the days of his FLESH have NO Scriptures to support that theory which was forced to be accepted in the fifth century.
