The DOCTRINE of the TRINITY

What is the doctrine of the Trinity? Is the doctrine of the Trinity sound Biblical teaching? The short answer is NO! The doctrine of the Trinity is a man-made doctrine that took over three centuries to be formed. And the doctrine of the Trinity contradicts the Scriptures in many places. The doctrine of the Trinity basically states the following.

According to church TRADITION, the doctrine of the Trinity states that there is but one God comprised of three separate persons in the one true God. And these three persons which make up that doctrine called the Trinity Godhead, by Christians who teach the doctrine of the Trinity, are called God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Thus, ONLY according to Trinitarian Christians is the only true God a so-called “triune being” called the Trinity Godhead. In other words, the doctrine states that the ONE true God is ONE God, or one BEING, but the ONE God is made up of three separate PERSONS, and NOT three separate BEINGS or three separate Gods.

Also, the doctrine of the Trinity teaches that each person of the Trinity is co-equal and co-eternal. The term “co-equal” means that the Father and the Son are equal in every way where neither is less than nor greater than the other. And that also means that the Father and the Son have ALWAYS been co-equal, seeing that they are co-eternal, according to the doctrine of the Trinity. In other words, the term co-eternal means that neither the Father nor the Son ever had a BEGINNING.

Now, the doctrine of the Trinity was created to try and harmonize the Father as being God and Jesus as being called God. For you see, in the Old Testament, the Bible teaches that there is but ONE true and only wise God, who ALONE and by Himself is the Creator. But in the New Testament in Hebrews 1:8, Almighty God the Father calls His Son by the title of God. And in the second century a controversy rose up among Christians trying to reconcile the fact that BOTH the Father AND His Son are called by the title of God. 

So then, at the beginning of the forming of the doctrine, there were actually only TWO, the Father and the Son. It was not until the mid-third century that a Christian named Tertullian uses the Latin word “Trinitas” that some Christians were seeking to learn how the Holy Spirit can raise the dead seeing that only God Himself can raise the dead. It was later that the Latin word “Trinitas” was changed to the word “Trinity”. The word Trinity is comprised of two words, TRI meaning three and UNITY meaning one, thus, TRI + UNITY = TRINITY, which to Trinitarian Christians means three in one God being and one God in three separate persons.

Now, you also need to know that there were other groups of Christians that had other theories as to how to harmonize both the Father and His Son being called God. For example, their is a different view of Jesus by Christians who are now called Oneness Pentecostal Christians. And they have their own theory concerning Jesus and the Father being called God. And their theory is that the ONE God is ONE person “manifested” Himself in different forms. So then, to them, the Father and the Son are one and the self-same BEING, as in, the Father became the Son. And thus, to them, that means that the Son is the Father and the Father is the Son.

Now, these two groups of Christians were NOT the only Christians trying to figure out how two separate beings could be called by the title of God. For you see, in the minds of BOTH the Trinitarian Christians and the Oneness Pentecostal Christians there can only be ONE true God who alone is the Almighty God, the Creator. In other words, in their minds the Father has to be the Almighty God AND the Son has to be the Almighty God. The Father has to be the Creator AND the Son has to be the Creator. Otherwise, to THEM, they would not be the SAME God. 

Again, those two groups of Christians were NOT the only Christians trying to figure out how two separate beings could be called by the title of God. For you see, OTHER Christians decided that the Father ALONE is the only true God and that Jesus is a “lesser” God under and subject to his God and Father. But, to my knowledge, they seemed to teach that the Son became a God under and subject to the Father in the eternity past. Whereas today, Biblical Unitarian Christians know and understand that the human Son of God was made Lord and God AFTER the cross and resurrection, according to Acts 2:36 and many other passages of Scripture.

So then, to YOU, which group of Christians comes the closest to what the Bible ITSELF actually teaches? 

I want to begin this study on the doctrine of the Trinity by saying that I was taught the doctrine of the Trinity all my life growing up in faith of the Roman Catholic Church denomination. I was raised in  belief of the Roman Catholic Church, but I was not truly saved until age 22. And at age 22, I came have what is called among Protestant Christians as having a “personal” relationship with Jesus. This being saved by faith is also called the “born-again” experience. And at the beginning of my “personal” born-again walk with the Lord, I did not know that any other teaching other than the doctrine of the Trinity even existed. All I knew when I first became a true born-again Christian at age 22 was the doctrine of the Trinity as taught by the Roman Catholic Church, so that is what I believed.

When I became a true born-again Christian God gave me a hunger for the word of God. All I wanted to do was to read and study God’s word to learn more about God and His Son Jesus. So I read the Bible every day at work for 6 to 8 hours. For you see, I had a job at a bowling alley that was brand new and my job was to fix the machine IF something went wrong. Well, being brand new machines, nothing hardly ever went wrong, but I had to be there just in case. So I could watch TV, listen to the radio, read, and even sleep, so long as I did not leave the mechanics room. I had to be able to hear a call on the intercom in order to fix a problem with one of the machines. So then, I had a LOT of free time to read and study the Bible, sometimes as much as 8 hours each evening for six evenings a week.

Anyway, when I started to come upon Scriptures as I was reading and studying the word of God that seemed to oppose the “DOCTRINE” or the teaching on the Trinity concerning Jesus being CO-EQUAL with the Father and how Jesus, the Son of God had ALWAYS existed in eternity past without ever having a BEGINNING.Then that is when I began to QUESTION the doctrine of the Trinity. For you see, the Bible ITSELF clearly teaches us that Jesus had a BEGINNING at his virgin birth.

At first, I simply set these questions that I had on a “shelf” so to speak. In other words, I brushed them off as me being a new Christian that did not understand God’s word. But as I kept reading and studying God’s word I began to see that Almighty God the Father and His Son, Jesus, were NOT EQUAL in EVERY way where neither is greater than or less than the other as the doctrine of the Trinity wrongly teaches. So I began to ask those in authority in the Protestant Trinitarian church that I attended at that time in my life. I asked the pastor, Sunday school teachers, Bible study teachers, and even other older Christians to explain these seemingly contradictory passages of Scripture that I had been reading in God’s word that did not agree with the doctrine of the Trinity. Or I should say that the doctrine of the Trinity did not agree with the Scriptures. And the truth is that I never really got any straight answers from any of the leaders in the church that were convincingly backed by the word of God. The most common response that was repeated to me over and over by Trinitarian Christians that it is a “mystery of God” and that God’s ways are higher than our ways. Or God’s ways are past finding out, so we have to accept this teaching of the Trinity by faith even though it cannot be thoroughly explained or understood.

So I again BLINDLY accepted the Trinity doctrine for a while longer until I came across so many contradictions that the doctrine of the Trinity had with the Scriptures that I could no longer BLINDLY accept this doctrine of the Trinity as being SOUNDLY BASED upon the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. I knew back then some forty years ago and I still know now that God is NOT the author of confusion. And, to me, this doctrine of the Trinity was becoming even more confusing with each question I asked of those whom I trusted to know more than I knew as a new baby Christians to explain these CONTRADICTIONS to me that the doctrine of the Trinity had with the Scriptures. I mean, the “doctrine” of the Trinity and the “doctrine” of the Deity of Jesus clearly CONTRADICTED the MANY verses of Scriptures that the Holy Spirit revealed to me. By the way, the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus teaches that Jesus had TWO natures at the SAME time during the days of his flesh. One nature was divine while his other nature was human. And it was this doctrine of the Deity of Jesus that the leaders in the Trinitarian church denominations use to try and explain any and all questions, such as, how did Jesus NOT know the day and the hour of his return when the Father DID know the day and the hour of His sons return?

And they would say, you have to understand that Jesus had TWO natures and that it was only his human nature that did not know the day and hour of his return but his DIVINE nature of Jesus being fully Almighty God Himself in the flesh did know the day and hour of his return.

And I began thinking to myself, WHERE does it say in the Bible ITSELF say that Jesus had TWO natures at the SAME time during the days of his flesh? And if you ask that question concerning where in the Bible does it say that Jesus had two natures at the same time, they have NO Scriptures to give to you. For you see, there are no verses in the entire Bible that teaches us that Jesus had two natures at the same time during the days of his flesh. But yet they will still TRY to explain their two nature doctrine by saying things like only God Himself can be worshiped and Jesus was worshiped, so, therefore, Jesus had to have TWO natures because no Jew would worship a man.

Now, to me that answer does not prove that Jeus had natures at the SAME time during the days of his flesh. For you see, we are humans, and in the world to come, Jesus will make humans come to worship at OUR feet, according to Revelation 3:9. And also, Almighty God the Father commands us, as Christians, to honor His Son, Jesus, EVEN AS we honor Him. So since God Himself wants us to honor and worship His Son, then that is what I will do.

So then, when they could not give me answers that were SOUNDLY based upon the word of God, I would go back to the Scriptures for my answers and ask God to reveal His truth to me. For you see, to me, just talking in circles using metaphors like H2O being a liquid, a solid, and gas, but yet, still one element that may sound logical is NOT a sound Biblical answer. For you see, in reality, those kinds of metaphor answers do not explain the CONTRADICTIONS that the doctrine of the Trinity has with the Scriptures that I am seeing in the word of Almighty God. So again, when Trinitarian Christians could not give me the answer to these contradictions, then I decided to search out the TRUTH for myself and allow the Holy Spirit to be my teacher.

When I first became a true born-again Christian, I prayed to God telling Him that I did not care who was right or who was wrong. For you see, at that time in my life, I was no longer attending the Roman Catholic Mass because of all the arguments between my mom and the parents of my sister’s fiancé who were NOT Roman Catholics. So I told God, “All I want to know is the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH, and NOTHING but the TRUTH!” And I held up a Bible and said to God, all church denominations use the Bible, but yet they all teach different things. So I want to know your truth, God. 

And I believe with all my being that the Holy Spirit was and still is revealing to me the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of God little by little as He brought these contradictions before me from the word of God which clearly showed me that the way in which the “DOCTRINE” of the Trinity is written and taught is NOT soundly based upon the WHOLE word of God.

You see, we all know and agree that the word of God in the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts does not contradict itself, but rather, all contradictions that arise come when only a PART of God’s word is viewed intensely apart from the WHOLE of God’s word to be incorrectly “interpreted”. And even TRANSLATIONS of the Bible are interpretations as well. In other words, some translations are biased toward a particular preconceived belief. So then, it is only the incorrect interpretations of the Scriptures that have caused all the divisions in the church between the many church denominations. Please understand that it is NOT the entire translation that is incorrectly translated. But rather, it is only certain verses in the Bible that have been incorrectly translated. 

So, to me, the only way back to the UNITY of the faith, as taught by the first Apostles of Jesus who wrote the New Testament, is to truly consider all sides of every given controversial subject. For you see, when one only truly considers their own side of the controversy then they are NOT open to admit that they could possibly be wrong. And in almost every case of controversy, there are Scriptures on both sides that are focused upon so intently that they can only see ONE possible interpretation for those verses of Scripture.

Some call this “taking a verse of Scripture out of its context” and saying it means something different than what the context from where the verse is found is actually saying. This is part of what I mean by focusing so intently on a single verse of Scripture. But I also mean that for any teaching or doctrine to be SOUNDLY based upon the word of God it must NOT contradict ANY other part of the word of God as a WHOLE. In other words, the WHOLE word of God must NOT contradict the doctrine being taught because almost all church doctrines are INTERPRETED from selected verses of Scripture.

Now, at times, there may be two different verses of Scripture that SEEM to contradict each other, but it is only because one verse or the other is not being INTERPRETED correctly.

As I said before, the Holy Spirit revealed to me a little bit here and a little bit there, piece by piece until I began to see an undeniable picture that was contrary to the picture that was painted by the doctrine of the Trinity that I was taught all my life. In other words, what I have come to know overtime was NOT taught to me by man. To say this another way, I did not read any “anti-Trinitarian” books to learn that the doctrine of the Trinity is not taught in the Bible ITSELF. But rather, it was the Holy Spirit who led me to this truth that the doctrine of the Trinity is NOT found in the Bible.

For you see, at the first, I was not seeking to prove or disprove any church doctrine that I was taught, but rather, I was seeking God to know how Jesus did the works that he did while he was on the earth. Please read the study called “JESUS THE SON OF MAN” for a deeper understanding of what I mean by this. For now, I will just say that I asked God Himself three simple questions.

#1. Did Jesus do the works that he did, BECAUSE Jesus was fully Almighty God in the flesh?

#2. Did Jesus do the works that he did, BECAUSE Jesus was the SON of Almighty God?

#3. Did Jesus do the works that he did, BECAUSE Jesus was the Son of MAN who was ANOINTED or filled with the Holy Spirit of Almighty God?

Anyway, this in-depth study in God’s word that I wrote down to share with my readers revealed the following contradictions. Some of which I will share in-depth as we continue this and many other studies on this same subject of verses used by the Trinitarian Christians under the heading >>>A LIST OF VERSES USED TO TRY TO PROVE THE TRINITY!<<<

I was taught or rather heard of many different teachings very soon after becoming a born-again Christian at age 22. But all of the teachings were basically the same in essence, only varying a little here and little there. I was always taught that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh being fully God and fully a man at the same time having two natures at the SAME time, one divine, and one human. This teaching or doctrine is known by many Christians as God incarnate which simply means that Almighty God Himself was made flesh, as in, Almighty God existing in human form but yet still remained fully Almighty God.

And as I said before, Oneness Pentecostal Christians teach that Almighty God who is ALONE the Father became His own Son, but yet, at the same time was the Father. To them, this Son of MAN, Jesus, was NOT a separate person or being from the Father. Rather, to Oneness Pentecostal Christians, Almighty God was supposedly clothed in a human body. In other words, in their minds, Jesus is Almighty God Himself, as in, Almighty God the FATHER supposedly put on a body of FLESH like we would put on clothes. And thus, to them, the term “Almighty God in the flesh” means that Jesus is one and the self-same BEING as the Father Himself.

Later, I learned that yet others taught that Jesus was half God and half man, seeing that the Father was Almighty God and the mother of Jesus was human. But most mainstream churches that I have come to know, claim, as in, they dogmatically insist that Jesus is 100% God and 100% man at the SAME time having two natures at the same time during the days of his flesh. 

But yet again, there are MANY Christians who do NOT believe in either the doctrine of the Trinity or the doctrine of Oneness. And, thus, those Christians also deny the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus DURING the days of his FLESH. In other words, most Biblical Unitarian Christians know and understand that Jesus was MADE both Lord and Christ AFTER the cross and resurrection. And thus, it was the HUMAN Son of God who was HIGHLY EXALTED and given a NEW NAME above every other name to be made a God over the whole earth DURING the world to come. All of what I just said will be explained from the Scriptures throughout this study in God’s word. So please read the entire study.

Now, what really got me to searching for the truth was when I saw all this controversy in the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus during the days of his FLESH. The Holy Spirit had already shown me many verses of Scripture that make it impossible for Jesus to BE Almighty God Himself in the flesh. And it intrigued me to look into the arguments made by other Christians as to how much God’s nature and how much human nature Jesus had. 

And when I studied this subject deeper, it caused me to question even more whether or not I could trust what others taught. Could I truly trust those that I used to placed my trust in, to teach me the word of God? Did they really know and understand what the word of Almighty God ITSELF actually taught? I mean I really struggled with thoughts like, could I ever truly trust what I was being taught in church anymore? Are those in authority truly STUDYING God’s word? Or are they just merely REPEATING what they themselves have been TAUGHT by others before them. And those Christians as well simply REPEATED what they were TAUGHT by others before them. And so forth and so on all the way back to the origin of the doctrine of the Trinity that took over three centuries to be formed. And what we have today is NOT what the original doctrine of the Trinity states. For you see, some Christians are CHANGING the doctrine of the Trinity. But that is another study.

So, I became like those men in Berea in Acts 17:11. For you see, they SEARCHED the word of Almighty God DAILY to see IF they were being taught the truth. So then, I began to search the word daily to see if what I was being TAUGHT in the church was, in fact, the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. And as I said before, I did not care who was right or who was wrong, all I wanted to know was the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH, and NOTHING but the TRUTH. 

The result of my search and praying to God is that I was NOT being taught the TRUTH in many areas of church doctrines. And on my website at AMatterOfTruth.com, I have many other subject headings or categories that explain WHY other church doctrines are also NOT sound Biblical teachings. But in this study I want to stay focused on why the doctrine of the Trinity is NOT a sound Biblical teaching.

So, as I said before, I wrote down three questions, which I believe were inspired by the Holy Spirit to ask God as you will soon see if you continue in your quest for the TRUTH.

#1. Did Jesus do the works he did as God in the flesh?

#2. Did Jesus do the works that he did as the Son of God?

#3. Did Jesus do the works that he did as the Son of man anointed by the Holy Spirit of God?

Again, please read the study “JESUS THE SON OF MAN” for the outcome of my own quest for the truth on this particular subject. In that study, you will learn how I came to the conclusion that the word of God PLAINLY teaches that Jesus did the works that he did as the HUMAN Son of MAN that was ANOINTED by Almighty God. You will learn that the God and the Father of His human Son anointed the Son of MAN with the Holy Spirit of God and power. You will learn that it was the very SAME Holy Spirit and power that is made available to each and every believer today and throughout the history of the church.

Also, please read the study called “JESUS THE CHRIST” for a deeper understanding that everything that Jesus did while he was on the earth was as a mere man just as you and I. What I mean by this is that we, as Christians, can ALSO do the SAME works that Jesus did through the ANOINTING or the infilling of the Holy Spirit being FULL of the Spirit to overflowing which is also called being under the ANOINTING. One of the meanings of the word “Christ” means the anointed by God. Remember the words of Jesus who taught us that THESE WORKS that I DO YOU shall DO ALSO!

Please read John 14:12.

“Verily, verily, (Or TRULY, TRULY) I say unto YOU, he that BELIEVES on me, the WORKS that I do, he shall do ALSO; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

Jesus went to the cross to prepare a PLACE of power and authority for whosoever BELIEVES in the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Are you a BELIEVER in Jesus? If so, then the SAME Holy Spirit that DWELT IN Jesus now DWELLS IN YOU. And the same Holy Spirit, dwelling in you, will EMPOWER YOU to DO the SAME works the Jesus did through the Eternal Spirit who dwelt in him during the days of his flesh. Is this not what Jesus HIMSELF says? If you desire a deeper understanding of who you ARE in Jesus Christ and the AUTHORITY over the enemy Satan the devil in the mighty NAME of Jesus that you as a BELIEVER have been GIVEN to use to defeat and OVERCOME the enemy, then please read the following studies; “THE POWER and the AUTHORITY of the BELIEVER”, “JESUS the NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES”, and “STIR UP the GIFT that is WITHIN You!”

I also want YOU, the reader, and seeker of the TRUTH, to KNOW that is was THROUGH this SAME Holy Spirit that the Son of MAN, Jesus, lived his life WITHOUT SIN, and WE, as believers, have this SAME Holy Spirit and power dwelling in us for us to live our lives without sin as well. Many preachers tell Christians to stop sinning, but they never tell you HOW to stop sinning. But if you TRULY want to know how to overcome sin in your life, the Holy Spirit will teach you HOW to stop sinning as He taught me how in that study I linked above. But for now, please read Hebrews 9:14 which teaches us that Jesus lived his life WITHOUT sin and was empowered by the eternal Holy Spirit of Almighty God that DWELT IN him to offer himself as a sacrifice for mankind on the cross.

Hebrews 9:14.

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who (Speaking of the human Son of MAN, Jesus) THROUGH the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot (Or THROUGH the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him, Jesus offered himself to die on the cross WITHOUT SIN) to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

The word of TRUTH teaches us that the WORKS that Jesus DID, he did THROUGH the Holy Spirit dwelling in him. And He who now dwells in YOU, the reader and seeker of the truth, who BELIEVES in Jesus, shall ALSO do the SAME works through the same Holy Spirit and power! 

I do not know about you, but I got tired of sinning. That which I did not want to do I found myself doing over and over and that which I should be doing I did not do. Then one day I got so fed up with sinning that I cried out to God and asked Him WHY I could not OVERCOME these things in my life that I wanted so desperately to overcome. I knew that the word of God taught that sin shall NOT have DOMINION over me, but yet, it seemed that no matter how hard I tried I could not seem to overcome certain things in my life. I knew that 1 Peter 2:21-23 teaches us that we as Christians are CALLED to FOLLOW the EXAMPLE that Jesus set for us who did NO SIN.

Please read 1 Peter 2:21-23.

“For even hereunto were you CALLED: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an EXAMPLE, that you should FOLLOW his steps:

Verse 22. Who DID NO SIN, neither was guile found in his mouth:

 Verse 23. Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not, but committed himself to Him that judges righteously”

You see, the MAN, Jesus, or the HUMAN, Jesus, knew that he was NOT Almighty God in the flesh and that he needed to COMMIT himself to his God and Father to help him OVERCOME SIN and to OFFER himself on the cross without sin. And Jesus as the Son the MAN did these WORKS of living WITHOUT SIN THROUGH the power of the Holy Spirit of Almighty God who DWELT IN him. Again, please read the study called “HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE FREE FROM SIN!” For you see, one of the reasons as to why I stand up to teach WHY I can no longer believe in the doctrine of the Trinity is that both Trinitarians and Oneness Christians seem to constantly preach that ONLY Jesus can live without sin because he is Almighty God Himself in the flesh. And I knew that I am not Almighty God. So then, HOW could I possibly follow the EXAMPLE of Jesus to live MY life without sin if Jesus was truly Almighty God Himself in the flesh as church TRADITION claimed? 

For you see, I heard over and over, nearly every time I went to church, that we are filthy sinners saved by grace and ONLY Jesus can live without sin because he is God. But yet I was desperate to stop sinning. I knew full well from the Holy Spirit that HE wanted me to stop ALL sinning, even the sins that seemed as if I could not overcome. But the doctrine of the Trinity wrongly fed doubt in me that it was useless to even try to stop sinning For you see, it was because of the wrong TEACHING that only Jesus can live without sin because Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh that led me to wrongly believe that I would always be a sinner. But for now, let us get back on the topic at hand to learn why I can no longer believe in the doctrine of the Trinity and why I can NEVER believe in the doctrine of Oneness.

To better understand that Jesus, the Son of God, was, is, and ever shall be under and subject to his God and Father who ALONE is the Almighty God, I want you to think of Almighty God as the SUPREME And HIGHEST AUTHORITY, beside which, there is no other AUTHORITY higher than Almighty God, the FATHER. In other words, Almighty God the Father is THE ALMIGHTY GOD, beside whom, there is no other God or god that is HIGHER than Him. 

For you see, there are, indeed, many other gods that Yahweh Himself SET to BECOME gods under and subject to Himself to rule over specific areas of His creation. You see, my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, the word of TRUTH teaches us that Almighty God the Father is the God of gods in Deuteronomy 10:17. And it is NOT talking about false idol gods. For you see, the angels, as in, some of the angels are called Elohim which is the same Hebrew word translated as God referring to THE God of gods.

“For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regards not persons, nor takes reward:”

Please know and understand that Almighty God is the one who GIVES the AUTHORITY and power to whomsoever He chooses. And, thus, there is NO AUTHORITY that is NOT given EXCEPT it is GIVEN BY Almighty God Himself. That is to say, all authority is established by Almighty God Himself, as in, Almighty God set up UNDER Himself lesser “gods” or “lesser authorities”. To say this another way, the word “God” is simply a TITLE like Lord is a title and King is a title. So there can be MANY who are CALLED Gods by TITLE, but to us, as Christians that is but ONE God, even the FATHER. And to us there is but ONE Lord, even Jesus Christ who was MADE Lord by his God and Father who alone is the ONLY TRUE God, according to John 17:1-3, Acts 2:36, and 1 Corinthians 8:5,6, which we will read now being LEFT IN its CONTEXT and the other passages of Scripture you can look up on your own.

1 Corinthians 8:5-13.

“For though there be that are CALLED gods, whether in heaven or in the earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) (Again, the angels in heaven are CALLED gods or Elohim by TITLE but they are not the ONE and only TRUE God who ALONE is the Father, according to Jesus himself in John 17:1-3. AND the are many lords for you see Abraham is called lord by TITLE which simply means master but that does not mean that Abraham is Jesus himself simply because he is called lord)

Verse 6.  But to us, there is but ONE God, the Father, of whom are all things, (Or of who are the ALL of whosoever BELIEVES. For you see, the word “things” is NOT in the original text) and we in Him; (Or the ALL of whosoever believes are in the Father by being in His Son) AND ONE Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (Or through who, as in because of whom are the ALL of whosoever BELIEVES, and WE in him)

Verse 7.  Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience OF the idol unto this hour eat it AS a thing offered unto an idol; (In other words, Paul is saying that not every one of the ALL of whosoever BELIEVES in Jesus as the atonement for their sins have this knowledge of ONE God who alone is the Father AND we also have ONE Lord who is Jesus Christ. For you see, they still have the CONSCIENCE of the idol that requires a SACRIFICE, And even to this day they are still eating as the children of Israel under the Old Covenant written in the Old Testament) and their conscience being weak is defiled.

Verse 8.  But MEAT commends us NOT to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. (You see, there are true born-again Christians even in the church of today that sincerely but wrongly believe that Christians MUST keep all the dietary laws under the Old Covenant written in the Old Testament. And Paul is teaching us that THEY who wrongly teach that we must keep the Law of Moses are weak in their CONSCIENCE having the same kind of CONSCIENCE that idol worshipers have, which is the need to offer sacrifices and keep ceremonial services to their false god)

Verse 9. But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to them that are weak. (Then Paul uses an example of false idol worshipers first before he applies the same idol CONSCIENCE to SOME of the brethren)

Verse 10.  For if any man sees you which HAS knowledge sit at meat in the idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak  (Still having the CONSCIENCE OF those who worship idols) be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; (In other words, to us who are STRONG Christians all idols are NOTHING and the meat that pagans offer to their idols is just simply meat. For you see, to us, their is but ONE God who alone is the Father and ONE Lord, who alone is Jesus Christ and all idols mean NOTHING to us. For you see, to us there is only ONE TRUE God who alone is the Father and to us there is only one true Lord who alone is our Lord Jesus Christ)

Verse 11.  And through your knowledge (Of liberty IN Jesus Christ to eat meat that you KNOW was sacrificed to idols) shall the weak BROTHER perish, for whom Christ died? (For you see, if a weak brother still having a CONSCIENCE of idols eats NOT in FAITH knowing his or her LIBERTY then to THEM it is sin. So be gentle to not push Sabbath-keeping Christians to LIBERTY lest they still HAVE a weak CONSCIENCE to have DOUBTS that they do NOT have to keep the Law of Moses in order to please God)

Verse 12.  But when you sin so against the brethren and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 

Verse 13. Wherefore, if meat makes my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world stands, lest I make my brother to offend.”

Now, false idol worshippers are NOT our brothers and and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ. So Paul is talking about REAL gods that Yahweh Himself MADE Lords and gods under Himself. That is why we are NOT to worship the angels. For you see, only the fallen angels like Lucifer, aka, Satan will DECEIVE humans to worship them. Satan is CALLED by TITLE the god of this world, but he is a “rebel” god that seeks to be worshiped ABOVE  Yahweh the Father. Yahweh commands us to worship His Son Jesus, whom He Himself MADE Lord and God to rule FOR Him in the world to come for 1000 years. And God did that so that Yahweh can JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels BY the MAN Jesus anointed whom He Himself ORDAINED, according to Acts 17:31.

Now, this does not mean that there is more than ONE God, as in, more than one Almighty God. There can be, and always will be, only ONE Almighty who alone is the HIGHEST God which is the Father. And to us, there can only be ONE Lord who alone is Jesus anointed who Yahweh the Father Himself MADE Lord, according to Acts 2:36.

The word “besides” in the verses of Scripture in the book of Isaiah that says there is no God “BESIDES” me can also be translated as there is no God “HIGHER THAN” than me or there is no god ABOVE me. I know there is more to the meaning of the word “God” than just having AUTHORITY but looking at the word “God” in this way helps clear up a lot of confusion about WHY the Father is God and His Son is ALSO called God in Hebrew 1:8. So seeing THE Almighty God being ABOVE His Son Jesus does not really diminish the meaning of the word “God” concerning Jesus being called God. 

For you see, it was Yahweh the Father Himself who highly exalted His HUMAN Son, Jesus to be MADE Lord and God AFTER the cross. The Father GAVE the Son of MAN, Jesus ALL authority and power AFTER the cross and said to him through PROPHECY in Psalm 45:6,7, “Your throne O God is for an age to an age. The scepter of your kingdom is a right scepter. Verse 7. You loved righteousness and hated wickedness. THEREFORE, God, YOUR God, has ANOINTED you ABOVE your FELLOWS”

And, clearly, this prophecy was fulfilled AFTER the cross because if so be that God’s Son was truly God the Son in the eternity past then he would have already been ABOVE everything and everyone. Plus, where are the Scriptures were we are ever called the FELLOWS or the BRETHREN of the Father? Anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear can plainly see that God’s Messiah is PROPHESIED to BECOME “A” God to rule FOR Yahweh and in the NAME of Yahweh WHEN the government is laid upon his shoulder during the world to come and NOT for all eternity future. 

The Apostles and the early church realized that there were many who were called “gods” or lesser “authorities” that were under Almighty God, the FATHER whom He Himself SET to BE in authority. The truth of the whole matter s that Lucifer was once a “good” god who was SET by Yahweh to rule over the earth. But pride was found in Lucifer and he deceived one-third of the angels to join with him to make war against God’s throne. Lucifer wanted to exalt himself to be above the clouds so that he could be like God. Then, when God was about to destroy Satan and the fallen angels in the lake of fire that He prepared for them, Lucifer BLAMED God that He created Him, and thus, it was God’s fault for him making war against God. So God DEFERRED His anger for His NAME sake to clear His name from being polluted and blasphemed by His enemies.

So, God knowing how wise and clever Lucifer is contrived a secret plan to JUDGE Lucifer and the fallen angels as LIARS BY the MAN Jesus Christ whom He ordained. For you see Lucifer blamed Yahweh that He somehow created them with a sinful nature. So God gathered some of the Elohim together that He Himself SET to be gods and said to the Elohim, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” But God also SECRETLY HID a PROPHECY to His yet future Son talking to him as being the “us” in the FUTURE. And then, God would eventually make man in THEIR own image by first making His FIRSTBORN Son in his God and Father’s own image after the cross. Remember that there is MORE than just ONE way to harmonize HOW two can be called God when the Jews believe in just ONE God.

One way is to make the ONE God be three separate persons in the ONE, God.

Another way to make the ONE God is ONE person manifest Himself to be His own Son.

Another way is to DENY that Jesus is even “A” God under and subject to his God.

But the SOUND Biblical way is to NOT try and FORCE the Scripture to say something that they are NOT TRULY saying and simply accept the TRUTH that Yahweh MADE His HUMAN Son become His Lord of lords and His King of kings. And that God’s prophesied Messiah is also prophesied to rule AS God over the earth ONLY in the world to come for an AGE which will be 1000 years long.

In other words, there are indeed, TWO separate DEITIES, God the Father and God the Son. And these two Gods are in UNITY as ONE God. Now, the purpose of Yahweh, the Father making His human Son to become a God after the cross and resurrection, was so that WHOSOEVER of fallen humans who BELIEVE might  become God’s new creation created IN His Son Jesus Christ to INHERIT the world yet to come. And thus, we who believe in Jesus will JUDGE the angels. Or more precisely, Yahweh will judge the world system by the RIGHTEOUS MAN, Jesus, so that Yahweh can destroy Satan, the fallen angels, and the wicked humans in the lake of fire to END evil and ALL wars in the eternity future.

And in this SOUND Biblical way of reconciling TWO separate beings who are called God, then there is no need to say things like it is a MYSTERY and you just have to accept it, or you will remain dead in your sins unless you believe that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh. For you see, it is easy to believe in only ONE God who ALONE is THE Almighty God who He Himself has HIGHLY EXALTED His HUMAN Son to be MADE Lord and God over the earth in the world to come because ALL of the PROPHECIES clearly, and plainly teach us this in SIMPLICITY.

And that is just one reason why I can no longer believe in the doctrine of the Trinity and why I will never believe in the doctrine of Oneness that the Oneness Pentecostal Christians teach. And for ALL the MANY other reasons please see the list of studies below that I have compiled under just ONE LINK so you can send that one link to those that you are witnessing to. And help them see that the doctrine of the Trinity, the doctrine of Oneness, and the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus having two natures at the same time during the days of his FLESH are all false teachings. And thus, we must be reject them once a Christian sees or understands that the are false teachings for his or for herself directly from the Scriptures. So then, once you see that all three doctrines contradict many other verses of Scripture in the Bible, then you must reject the doctrine itself, but NOT reject Trinitarian Christians.

I want my readers to know that I teach only what the Bible ITSELF teaches, as in, what the WHOLE word of Almighty God teaches, as opposed to picking and choosing verses of Scripture OUT of their context. So I teach that the human Jesus BECAME a Deity AFTER the cross because that is when the Son of MAN, Jesus was HIGHLY EXALTED and GIVEN a new NAME that is ABOVE every other name. And God did that so that every knee will bow at the NAME and every tongue will confess that Jesus is “Lord” to the glory OF Almighty God the FATHER. Always remember that Jesus was MADE Lord BY his God and Father who ALONE is the ALMIGHTY God. For you see, IF Jesus was truly Almighty God Himself in the flesh then the Father could NOT be his God because there can only be ONE Who ALONE is THE Almighty God. And clearly, the Bible ITSELF teaches us that the Father is THE God of His Son Jesus.

No one can arrive at the truth by hearing only ONE side of the controversy. I only present you with ALL the evidence that I myself have found and leave it to you to decide what you want to believe.
