Are We BORN With the NATURE of Brute Beasts?

The Christians who teach the doctrine of original sin, the doctrine that teaches that we are all born with a Sinful Nature, and the doctrine of Total Depravity, all use 2 Peter 2:12 to try to support their doctrines. 

In other words, they “interpret”  the phrase “as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed” to mean that God ORDAINED certain specific people before the world began to be created for the sole purpose of DESTROYING them. To say this another way, some Calvinistic Christians teach that God created some people with the NATURE of brute beast so that or for the sole purpose that He could DESTROY them.

But that is NOT what this verse of Scripture teaches us. Let us read this verse in it context to learn what it truly means. 

Now, as you read the whole chapter, notice that the FALLEN angels are INCLUDED among those who SHALL BE MADE to be TAKEN to be destroyed. In other words, they will not go willingly and jump into the lake of fire to be burned alive.

So then, the KEY to understanding the TRUE sound Biblical meaning of 2 Peter 2:12 is to correctly translate the Greek word which is wrongly translated as “MADE” in the KJV and other modern translations. I will explain WHY I say this as you read the context below.

2 Peter 2:1-22.

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall BRING in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (So then, the false teachers that have been SEDUCED by evil spirits to teach doctrines of devils, according to 1 Timothy 4:1,2, BRING into the church those damnable heresies. And some Christians are then DECEIVED by those false teachings)

2 Peter 2:2. And many shall follow (Or YIELD to) their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. (In other words, the Christians who follow what some false teachers teach as DAMNABLE false teachings, then they also will be made partakers of the eternal punishment to perish as well.

Now, NOT ALL false teachings are damnable, meaning that you can lose your salvation. But false teachings, like converting to Islam, is indeed damnable)

2 Peter 2:3. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not. (To me, Peter is teaching us different KINDS of false teachings that could lead Christians astray, but they THINK that nothing is wrong with getting rich.

I see two things in this verse, one is they preach to get rich, and those who they deceive are distracted by the worldly luxuries to covet move wealth)

2 Peter 2:4. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; (Here we see that the fallen angels are INCLUDED as being a part of the brute breasts)

2 Peter 2:5. And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; (And according to Genesis 6:12, we can clearly see that the ungodly CORRUPTED THEMSELVES)

2 Peter 2:6. And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ASHES condemned them with an OVERTHROW, making them an example unto those that after SHOULD live ungodly; (In other words, Peter is WARNING both the saved and the unsaved, that if a person should choose to live ungodly to deny the WAY of TRUTH, then they also will perish being turned to ASHES in the lake of fire.

Also, notice that it GRIEVED God to His heart to have to destroy the wicked in the flood in the day of Noah. It was necessary to OVERTHROW the evil in the world lest not human would remain righteous.

For you see, God is at WAR to bring and END to the evil that was caused by the fallen angels)

2 Peter 2:7. And delivered just Lot, VEXED with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 

2 Peter 2:8. (For that RIGHTEOUS man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, VEXED his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds😉 

2 Peter 2:9. The Lord knows how to deliver the GODLY out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished: 

2 Peter 2:10. But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, (Sexual sins) and despise government. (Speaking of crimes of violence, robbery, and sins against the people. Not only breaking God’s commandments but also the laws of the land. And government could also include despising the overseers in the church) Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. (The Greek word translated as “dignities” also means GLORY. So to me, Peter could very well mean those who speak evil against the TRUTH as he says in verse 2.

In other words, by false teachings that BLAME God as the CAUSE of all of the EVIL in the world could be the THEY who speak evil of the GLORY of God. The word “dignities” means those who are WORTHY to receive honor and glory.

And thus, to speaking WRONG things against other Christians with the intention of damaging their worthiness in the eyes of God could be what Peter intends this verse to mean.

And Peter could also mean the Christians that WRONG teach that Christians should NOT worship Jesus who is INDEED WORTHY to receive GLORY and HONOR)

2 Peter 2:11. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. (Most likely referring back to the “dignities” whatever Peter intended the “dignities” to mean)

2 Peter 2:12. But these, (Including the fallen angels) as natural brute beasts, (Or those who CORRUPTED themselves to have a NATURE like irrational beasts, speaking of ungodly WILD men) MADE to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they do NOT understand; and shall utterly perish in their OWN corruption; (Now, from the CONTEXT, all of the these, their, they, and them, refer to those who CORRUPTED themselves. Therefore, the Greek word should be translated as REGENERATED, which means being made ALIVE again.

In other words, THESE, the wicked, REGENERATED or RESURRECTED to face the Day of Judgment shall be TAKEN to be cast into the lake of fire to be destroyed and turned to ASHES as their punishment for THEIR OWN choosing of DEATH instead of CHOOSING LIFE)

2 Peter 2:13. And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it PLEASURE to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their OWN deceivings while they feast with you; (Speaking of Christians obeying the teaching of Jesus under the New Covenant written in the New Testament hearing THEM bringing in false teachings among you. In other words, they deceived themselves with their OWN false teaching to live in SIN)

2 Peter 2:14. Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from SIN; beguiling unstable souls: (Carried about by every wind of false doctrine) an heart they have EXERCISED with covetous practices; cursed children: (In other words, they GREW in ungodliness by excusing a sin here and there to BECOME corrupted to now live in a lifestyle of sinning)

2 Peter 2:15. Which have FORSAKEN the right way, and are GONE ASTRAY, (In other words, they were NOT BORN as SINNERS as some FALSE teachers CLAIM) following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; (No Christian starts out loving sin and living in a lifestyle of sin, but the more they EXERCISE their sin and excuse their sin, then the harder their heart becomes.

And at times, some backslide so far that they are in DANGER of not coming back to the truth of the true gospel of Jesus Christ)

2 Peter 2:16. But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbade the madness of the prophet. 

2 Peter 2:17. These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. 

2 Peter 2:18. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that WERE CLEAN escaped from them who live in ERROR. (In other words, some true born-again Christians are LEAD ASTRAY by false doctrines deceiving them to live in sin)

2 Peter 2:19. While they promise them liberty, (Speaking of the false teachers promising those already deceived and those yet to HEAR their false teachings) they themselves are the servants of corruption: (Peter explains what he means by servants of corruption in the rest of this verse) for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 

2 Peter 2:20. For if AFTER they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. (So then, the pronouns these, them, and they are referring to those who were ONCE true born-again Christian who DEPARTED from the way of TRUTH.

At least some of them, for you see, wells WITHOUT water could be interpreted as Christians in name only who THINK they are Christians but the do NOT have the Holy Spirit dwelling in them)

2 Peter 2:21. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, AFTER they have known it, to TURN from the holy commandment delivered unto THEM. (So again, the CONTEXT all the way through this passage of scripture totally disagrees with the INTERPRETATION of verse 12 to mean that some people were BORN as SINNERS and their is NOTHING that they can do to CHANGE they way that Almighty God Himself MADE them)

2 Peter 2:22. But it is HAPPENED unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was WASHED to her wallowing in the mire.”

Here is the proverb that Peter is referring to, at least one of the Proverbs.

Proverbs 26:10-12.

“The great God that formed all things both rewards the fool, and rewards transgressors. (The fool is those who say there is no God. And the fool is a Christian who departs from the TRUE God to become an atheist or to convert to another religion, even converting to become a Jew in the Jewish religion to keep Torah or the Law of Moses)

Proverbs 26:11. As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly. 

Proverbs 26:12. See you a man wise in his own conceit? There is more hope of a fool than of him.”

So again, NO! 2 Peter 2:12 does NOT prove that ANY human is BORN with a sinful NATURE. But rather, every human being LEARNS to walk in righteousness. And sadly, some people LEARN to corrupt their own minds and harden their own hearts to SIN against their conscience.

And the TRUTH of the matters is that every man has sinned at some point in the life, we all have FALLEN short of the glory of God BECAUSE we all have SINNED at one time or another in our life.

And it was Satan, the DEVIL who entices us to SIN.

Now sadly, Christadelphian Christians do NOT believe that Satan, the Devil, is a REAL literal BEING. And the Christadelphian Christians ALSO wrongly believe, as well as, some other church denominations, that God created EVIL and that Yahweh is the CAUSE of all of the EVIL in the world. 

Plus, Christadelphian Christians, as well as other church denominations such as the Roman Catholic Church, sincerely, but wrongly believe in the FALSE doctrine or original sin. And thus, they build their other man-made doctrines upon the false doctrine of every person being born with a so-called sinful NATURE.

Again, once Christians understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands. 

And that you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels. 

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
