B-7 Ch 3 Does Genesis 1:26 Mean that God is a Trinity Godhead?

Elohim means that there a MANY gods that Yahweh Himself SET to be gods

And Jesus BECAME a God to REPLACE Lucifer!

And at the coming of Jesus, WE shall be made gods as well to rule and reign with Jesus over the earth during the world to come.

So then, Elohim does NOT mean that God is a so-called Trinity Godhead!

Many of the Angels are Elohim!

Elohim means MANY Gods and NOT a Trinity!

Does Genesis 1:26 Prove God is a Trinity Godhead?

In chapter 1 of Book 7, we learned that God SET some of the angels to be gods. And all Christians know that Satan is called the god of this present world. And thus, the Hebrew word Elohim means that there are MORE than just one God. But to us as Christians, there is only one Creator God who has always been God and the SOURCE of all of creation.

And in chapter 2 we learned that Jesus is ALSO the mediator between Yahweh the TRUTHFUL God and the LYING Elohim, Satan, and the fallen angels.

And here in chapter 3, I will explain the TRUE sound Biblical meaning of the following verses of Scripture that are used by Trinitarian Christians to try and prove the Almighty God the Creator is a TRIUNE Trinity God consisting of three separate persons referred to as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

I will quote argument number 2 made by Trinitarian Christians first, and then I will explain their true meaning in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

2) The Trinity consists of three Persons (Genesis 1:1, 26; 3:22; 11:7; Isaiah 6:8, 48:16, 61:1; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

In Genesis 1:1, the Hebrew plural noun “Elohim” is used. In Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7 and Isaiah 6:8, the plural pronoun for “us” is used.

The word “Elohim” and the pronoun “us” are plural forms, definitely referring in the Hebrew language to more than two

While this is not an explicit argument for the Trinity, it does denote the aspect of plurality in God.

The Hebrew word for “God,” “Elohim,” definitely allows for the Trinity.

In Isaiah 48:16 and 61:1, the Son is speaking while making reference to the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Compare Isaiah 61:1 to Luke 4:14-19 to see that it is the Son speaking. Matthew 3:16-17 describes the event of Jesus’ baptism.

Seen in this passage is God the Holy Spirit descending on God the Son while God the Father proclaims His pleasure in the Son. Matthew 28:19 and 2 Corinthians 13:14 are other examples of passages that present three distinct Persons in the Trinity.

Let us begin reading the example sentence before I explain what those verse truly mean.

Notice the pronouns used in the example sentence above are BOTH plural AND singular. And the SAME is true of the Hebrew word “Elohim”, it is BOTH plural and SINGULAR.

In other words, in Genesis 1:26 the pronoun “us” is plural, but in verse 27 all of the pronouns referring to God are SINGULAR, as in, ONE God in ONE person, who ALONE and by Himself created man.

And the Bible always identifies the only true Almighty God as being the Father. And that is why we must “interpret” verse 26 in its CONTEXT and then in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. As you read Genesis 1:26 together with verse 27, please notice all of the SINGULAR pronouns in Genesis 1:27.

Genesis 1:26,27.

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: (So then, God is talking to other Elohim, basically saying, here is what we can do to settle the issue of whose fault it is the some of you angels rebelled and waged a war against Me, and then blamed me and said it is My fault because I am the Creator. Let us make man in our image)

and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

Genesis 1:27. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.”

Now, if Yahweh is indeed a Triune God, then I am quite sure that He would have inspire the men of old to use the plural pronouns in verse 27 as well. But God inspired the men of old to use SINGULAR pronouns in verse 27.

So then, the Elohim in verse 26 are Yahweh Elohim and the ANGELS that are also called the Elohim or the gods. And Yahweh Elohim is THE God of the gods whom He Himself MADE to become gods under and subject to Him is talking to the other Elohim.

But in verse 27 the Elohim is Yahweh THE highest Elohim who ALONE and by Himself MADE the Aleph Tav MAN in His OWN image and in the image of Elohim HE, Yahweh Elohim created He THEM as male and female.

So then, who is the Aleph Tav MAN that Yahweh Elohim created in His OWN IMAGE? In short, verse 27 is a hidden prophecy of the Messiah. And thus, Yahweh is ALSO talking to His future Messiah AS WELL, saying, let us, you My Messiah and myself, make fallen man in OUR IMAGE.

In other words, the Aleph and Tav are the FIRST and the LAST letters of the Hebrew alphabet. To say this another way, Jesus said in John 5:39 that the Scriptures or the WORD of God testifies or PROPHESIES of him. And Jesus said of himself, I am the first and the last.

Also, the prophecy in Psalm 40:7 and the fulfillment in Hebrews 10:7 speak of Jesus coming into existence as being the fulfillment of the prophecies in the Scriptures. And Jesus understood that the PROPHECIES speak of him as being the one prophesied to come. Thus, Jesus read the prophecies to LEARN of the GLORY that his God and Father promised to His anointed servant.

So then, just because some of the prophecies are written in the first person singular does NOT mean that a so-called God the Son SPOKE these prophecies in the eternity past face to face with His pre-existing Son as Trinitarian Christians claim.

Compare Isaiah 61:1 to Luke 4:14-19 to see that it is the Son speaking

No, it is NOT the Son speaking of himself in the eternity past. But rather, these are PROPHECIES speaking ABOUT the one prophesied to come. And the Son of God is the FULFILLMENT of the PROPHECIES. And thus, the Son did not literally exist UNTIL the prophecies were FULFILLED.

So then, you see how MISLEADING some teachings of man can be when they take verses of Scripture OUT of their CONTEXT. Let us go ahead and read Isaiah 61:1 in it context.

Isaiah 61:1-3.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has ANOINTED me to preach good tidings unto the meek; (Now, if the Son was speaking this in the eternity past, then WHY would Yahweh ANOINT His Son in the eternity past to PREACH to the meek? Were the meek up in heaven? NO!

And thus, this is a PROPHECY of God ABOUT Him ANOINTING His HUMAN Son, the Son of MAN, Jesus, to PREACH to the meek. And after the human Son of God was anointed, he was to read this prophecy as being ABOUT him, the one prophesied in the Scripture) He has SENT me (Speaking of the ANOINTED me, the Son of MAN, Jesus) to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (Yahweh did NOT send a so-called pre-existing God the Son down from heaven to come His Son in the flesh as Trinitarian Christians claim. But rather, God sent His ANOINTED human Son)

Isaiah 61:2. To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

Isaiah 61:3. To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified.”

Now, this Trinitarian writer says to compare Isaiah 61:1 with Luke 4:14-19 so that you can see that it is the Son of God SPEAKING in Isaiah 61:6.

But it is NOT the Son of God doing the SPEAKING in Isaiah 61:1 in the eternity past as the one doing the prophesying. Rather, it is Yahweh the Father speaking through His prophet Isaiah a PROPHECY about Yahweh’s Messiah.

It is a prophecy ABOUT who Yahweh will ANOINT with His Spirit and power, according to the FULFILLMENT in Luke 4:14-21 and Acts 10:38. And there is a HUGE difference between God being WITH Jesus from Jesus being Almighty God Himself.

Also, you have to wonder why this Trinitarian writer stopped at verse 19 and did not INCLUDE verse 21. So then, let us go ahead and read the whole context so that you can see that Jesus is the FULFILLMENT of the Scriptures, And thus, Jesus is the WORKMANSHIP of Yahweh, as opposed to being Yahweh Himself.

Luke 4:21.

“And he began to say unto them, This day is this Scripture FULFILLED in your ears.”

This day is NOT referring to the eternity past. The ears of the Jews were not created in the eternity past. Nor was Jesus anointed in the womb of the Virgin Mary as some Christians claim.

In Luke 4:1,14-21, Jesus is saying, I AM, I am to one PROPHESIED in the Scriptures that would be ANOINTED. And this DAY or at this time when I was baptized in the River Jordan by John the Baptist, Yahweh ANOINTED me and SENT me into the world.

So no, these verses do NOT prove that God is a so-called Trinity Godhead.

That leaves the following verses used by this Trinitarian writer that he uses to TRY to prove that God is a Trinity Godhead and that Jesus is one and the self-same being as Yahweh, the ONLY TRUE God.

Isaiah 6:8 and Isaiah 48:16.

Let us start with the last 3 passages of Scripture where the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are mentioned in the same verse or passage of Scripture.

To Trinitarian Christians, that proves that Yahweh is a Trinity Godhead made up of three separate persons who are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

And thus, to THEM, that proves that Jesus is Almighty God in the flesh having TWO natures at the SAME time DURING the days of his flesh, one divine, and one human.

Now, if the Trinitarian “INTERPRETATION” is true, then WHY could the Son of MAN, Jesus, do nothing of himself, according to John 5:19-30? And WHY did Jesus say in John 14:10 that Almighty God the Father DWELT in Jesus and it was the Father who did the works

Also, since when does Almighty God need to DWELL in Almighty God to EMPOWER Almighty God to do the works of healing?

Simply put, the doctrine of the Trinity is being READ into the verses of Scripture used by Trinitarian Christians. And Trinitarian Christians try to explain away verses like John 5:19-30 and John 14:10 climbing that it was only the human nature of Jesus that could do nothing of himself.

But yet, nowhere in the Bible itself is there any verse of Scripture that says Jesus had TWO natures at the SAME time DURING the days of his flesh, one divine and one human. That is a man-made doctrine that took centuries to be formed and was not made an official dogma until the fifth century.

Let us move on to Isaiah 48:16. We will read it from the KJV first. And then, we will read the same verse from other translations so that you can see that the DIFFER.

Isaiah 48:16 from the KJV.

Come you near unto Me, hear you this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and His Spirit, has sent me.”

First of all, the verb “am” is NOT in the original Hebrew text.

Also, the Hebrew word that is “translated” as there carries the meaning “therein” as in, I, therein the prophecy. In other words, I, the human Son of God, therein this prophecy from the time it was prophesied.

Isaiah 48:16 from the English Standard Version.

Draw near to Me, hear this: from the beginning I have not spoken in secret, from the time it came to be I have been there. And NOW the Lord GOD has sent me, and His Spirit.

Here it this verse we can see, that the Messiah is speaking after the prophecy came to be fulfilled, I, the human Son of God THEN has been, And NOW, Yahweh has sent me AND His Spirit.

Isaiah 48:16 from the Bible in Basic English.

Come near to Me, and give ear to this; from the start I did not keep it secret; from the time of its coming into existence I was there: and NOW the Lord God has sent me, and GIVEN me His Spirit.

Here we can see that Yahweh the Father is the Holy Spirit. And NOW, after the prophecy was fulfilled, Yahweh GAVE or anointed His human Son with a PORTION of His own Spirit and power.

The fulness of the Godhead did not dwell in the Son of MAN, Jesus, until AFTER the cross and resurrection. That is WHEN all power and authority was GIVEN to the human Son of God BECAUSE he was the Son of MAN, according to John 5:22-27.

Isaiah 48:16 from the God’s Word Translation.

Come here. Listen to this: From the beginning I have spoken nothing in private. From the time it took place, I was there. (Or THEN I) NOW the Almighty LORD has sent me and His Spirit.

For you see, the Hebrew word ALSO means THEN I. Or after the prophecy was fulfilled, THEN I came into existence. And NOW, Almighty Yahweh has sent me AND His Spirit.

Isaiah 48:16 from the LITERAL translation.

“Come near to Me! Hear you! This NOT from the beginning in concealment I spoke. From the time of becoming of her, I there. (Or THEN I was born) And NOW Yahweh sends me and Spirit of Him.”

Isaiah 48:16 from the New Living Translation.

Come closer, and listen to this. From the beginning I have told you plainly what would happen.” And NOW the Sovereign LORD and His Spirit have sent me with this message.

Now, what would happen was FULFILLED. And when we look at the FULFILLMENT, we see that from the TIME the Son was BORN of HER, the Virgin Mary, Jesus was there.

And NOW, after the Son of MAN was ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and power, Yahweh sends me by His Spirit leading me into the wilderness to be tempted.

And NOW His Spirit sends me with this message to proclaim that I am he, the one prophesied to come, I am the Messiah. Yahweh has ANOINTED me to PREACH to the meek. This Scripture is FULFILLED in your ears.

Now, the CONTEXT of Isaiah 48:16 teaches us that what Yahweh prophesied was NOT yet there in the beginning at the time the prophecy was given.

Isaiah 48:7.

“They are created now, and NOT from the beginning; even (Or neither) before the day when you heard them not; lest you should say, Behold, I knew them.”

So again, the answer is no! Isaiah 48:16 does NOT prove that Yahweh is a Trinity Godhead and that Jesus is Yahweh Himself in the flesh.

This brings us to the last verse of Scripture in argument number 2 made by the Trinitarian article that I have been quoting from.

Isaiah 6:8.

“Also, I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”

First of all, this is a VISION seen by Isaiah and NOT a so-called God the Son having a vision of himself in the eternity past, saying, Here amd I, send me.

Also, the name Isaiah means Yah has saved. So, Isaiah is a FIGURE of the Son of MAN, Jesus, having a VISION of himself sitting on the throne of Yahweh being high and LIFTED up or being HIGHLY EXALTED to be seated on Yahweh’s throne.

Please read Psalm 89:15-27 where we see a PROPHECY of the Messiah being given a VISION from Yahweh.

Psalm 89:15-27.

“Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance. (Or blessed are the people who shall be GLORIFIED with You glory)

Psalm 89:16. In Your NAME shall they rejoice all the day: and in Your righteousness shall they be exalted

Psalm 89:17. For You are the glory of their strength: and in Your favor our horn shall be EXALTED. (The Messiah is the horn of Israel)

Psalm 89:18. For the LORD is our defense; and the Holy One of Israel is our king. (Yahweh has always excited and the Holy One was MADE to become a King, according to Psalm 2:1-12)

Psalm 89:19. Then You spoke in VISION to Your Holy One, and said, I have laid HELP upon one that is mighty; I have EXALTED one chosen out of the people

Psalm 89:20. I have found David My servant; with My holy oil have I ANOINTED him: (Jesus was anointed TWICE. The first time was at his baptism and the second time was after the cross and resurrection)

Psalm 89:21. With whom My hand shall be established: My arm also shall strengthen him

Psalm 89:22. The enemy shall not exact upon him; (Or deceive him to be lead astray) nor the son of wickedness afflict him. (The concordance says this could mean, nor will the son of wickedness SING. It also means to browbeat and to depress. Basically, Satan will no be able to accuse him of sin)

Psalm 89:23. And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him. (This is yet to be fulfilled during the 1000-year reign of Jesus)

Psalm 89:24. But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him: and in My NAME shall his horn be EXALTED

Psalm 89:25. I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

Psalm 89:26. He shall cry unto Me, You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation

Psalm 89:27. Also, I will MAKE him my FIRSTBORN, higher than the kings of the earth.”

In other words, this is a prophecy saying that Yahweh will MAKE the Son of MAN, Jesus, to become Yahweh’s FIRSTBORN. And that Yahweh would EXALT the Son of MAN, Jesus, to be higher than the kings of the earth

And WE shall be made the kings of the earth under and subject to Jesus who is under and subject to the Eternal King, the unseen God.

This concludes chapter 3. I will quote argument number 3 made in a Trinitarian article that we have been examining. And in chapter 4, I will explain why the arguments do NOT prove that Yahweh is a Trinity God made up of three separate persons.

3) The members of the Trinity are distinguished one from another in various passages. In the Old Testament, “LORD” is distinguished from “Lord” (Genesis 19:24; Hosea 1:4).

The LORD has a Son (Psalm 2:7, 12; Proverbs 30:2-4). The Spirit is distinguished from the “LORD” (Numbers 27:18) and from “God” (Psalm 51:10-12).

God the Son is distinguished from God the Father (Psalm 45:6-7; Hebrews 1:8-9).

In the New Testament, Jesus speaks to the Father about sending a Helper, the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17). This shows that Jesus did not consider Himself to be the Father or the Holy Spirit

Consider also the other instances when Jesus speaks to the Father. Was He speaking to Himself? No. He spoke to another Person in the Trinity—the Father.

Be sure to continue reading Book 7 “There is But ONE God!”. In chapter 4, I will explaining the TRUE sound Biblical meaning to the above verses of Scripture.

The short answer is that none of the above verses prove that the Son of God literally existed in the eternity past. That meaning must be READ into those verses. In fact, they actually prove that the Son of God did NOT pre-exist!

To read chapter 4, please click on the link B-7 Ch 4 Psalm 2:7 The Lord our God has a Son!

Again, once Christians understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.

And that you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
