Hosea 11:9

Jesus is the Holy One of Israel!

Hosea 11:9 teaches us that Yahweh is NOT man, the Holy One of Israel.

Hosea 11:9.

“I (Yahweh) will NOT execute the fierceness of My anger, (Or My WRATH and vengeance) I will NOT return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and NOT MAN; the Holy One in the midst of you: and I will NOT enter into the city.”

And Acts 13:33-35 teaches us the Jesus is Yahweh’s Holy One! 

Acts 13:33-35.

“God has FULFILLED the same unto us their children, in THAT He has raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, You are My Son, THIS DAY have I BEGOTTEN you. (Or this very DAY that I raised you from the DEAD, I GENERATED from being mortal to be made a partaker of My Divine NATURE of IMMORTALITY)

Acts 13:34. And as concerning that He raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, He said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. 

Acts 13:35. Wherefore, he said also in another psalm, You (Yahweh) shall not suffer YOUR Holy One to see corruption.”

And John 5:22-27 teaches us that Yahweh committed all judgment unto His Son BECAUSE Jesus is the Son of MAN.

John 5:22-27.

“For the Father judges no man, but has COMMITTED all judgment unto the Son: (In other words, God committed the EXECUTING the fierceness of His WRATH unto the MAN Jesus Christ to execute Yahweh’s wrath, according to 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10)

John 5:23. THAT all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father which has sent him. 

John 5:24. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on Him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 

John 5:25. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 

John 5:26. For (Or because) as the Father has life in Himself; so has He GIVEN to the Son to have life in himself; 

John 5:27. And has GIVEN him authority to execute judgment ALSO, BECAUSE he is the Son of MAN.”

Or because he is HUMAN, a MAN approved by God, who Yahweh MADE to become both Lord and Messiah after the cross and resurrection, according to Acts 2:22-36!

Now, when we take a closer look at Hosea 11:9, we learn the Hebrew word “’ı̂ysh” also means “him that is”.

Here is how the concordance in E-Sword defines this Hebrew word.

Contracted for H582 (or perhaps rather from an unused root meaning to be extant); a man as an individual or a male person; often used as an adjunct to a more definite term (and in such cases frequently not expressed in translation.) : – also, another, any (man), a certain, + champion, consent, each, every (one), fellow, [foot-, husband-] man, (good-, great, mighty) man, he, high (degree), him (that is), husband, man [-kind], + none, one, people, person, + steward, what (man) soever, whoso (-ever), worthy. Compare H802.

In other words, Yahweh is specifically saying that He is NOT him that is the Holy One in the midst of you. Let us now read a little context with verse 9.

Hosea 11:1.

“When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called My Son out of Egypt.”

And when the child Jesus was two years old and those who wanted to kill the child born to become a King, God called him out of Egypt to fulfill this prophecy of the Messiah, according to Matthew 2:14,15.

Matthew 2:14.15.

“When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: 

Matthew 2:15. And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.”

So then, Hosea 11:1 is definitely a prophecy of the child Jesus being called out of Egypt. And verse 9 is definitely a prophecy of Jesus executing the WRATH and vengeance of Yahweh. Isaiah 11:11 is another prophecy where Yahweh promises to turn a SECOND time to deliver the remnant of Israel.

Not the name Israel means he shall rule as God. And thus, the name Israel is a FIGURE of Jesus, the Holy One of Israel, their King, who was CREATED by Yahweh, according to Isaiah 43:15.

Isaiah 43:15.

“Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. 

Isaiah 43:15. I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.”

So, both Yahweh and His King whom He CREATED are both called by the same title, the Holy One.

They are both called Lord. They are both called King. They are both called Savior. And they are both called by the NAME Yahweh. But there is only ONE Yahweh in ONE person who alone is the Creator and the origin of His Son, Jesus, whom He MADE a Lord, a King, a Savior, and a God after the cross and resurrection.

And Yahweh did this to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels, according to Psalm 8:1-6. Yahweh is in the process of judging Satan, and the fallen angels. And the faithful Christians are Yahweh’s witnesses that Yahweh will use to JUDGE the fallen angels and replace them with the SAINTS having Jesus as our head and Yahweh as the head of Jesus.

Again, once Christians understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands. 

And that you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels. 

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
