What Does Isaiah 45:5 TRULY Mean in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God?

As I have said many times, any verse of Scripture that is read apart from the rest of Scripture might SEEM to be saying something that it is NOT TRULY saying when it is correctly interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

And Isaiah 45:5 is perhaps one on the main verses of Scripture that has NOT been correctly interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

Let me show you what I mean. In the description of this Verse Study, I said that some Christians only FOCUS on the first half of this verse. And that is WHY this verse SEEMS to be saying that there is no other God EXCEPT for Yahweh to THEM.

But I assure you that that is NOT the true sound Biblical God intended meaning of this verse, when it is KEPT in its CONTEXT and correctly interpreted in the LIGHT of ALL of God’s word.

Again, let me show you what I mean. Let us read just the last half of this verse and ask some questions. I will highlight the words that refer to Almighty God Yahweh the Creator in orange. And I will highlight the one being prophesied about in yellow.

Isaiah 45:5b.

“… I girded you, though you have NOT KNOWN Me: ”

So then, clearly, the one to WHOM Yahweh is speaking ABOUT is NOT Yahweh Himself.

In fact, the one to whom Yahweh is speaking about does NOT even KNOW Yahweh at the TIME that this prophecy was prophesied.

So then, WHO is this person that is NOT Yahweh and did NOT KNOW Yahweh all of his life, that Yahweh GIRDING? And what does “to gird” mean in the context regarding this particular person that is being prophesied about?

Let us read the context in verse one of Isaiah chapter 45 in order to see WHO is being girded by Yahweh.

Isaiah 45:1.

“Thus says the LORD to His ANOINTED, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;”

Now, almost all Christians know and understand that many different people in the Old Testament are FIGURES of Jesus, the Messiah, the one prophesied to come.

Joseph is a figure of Jesus, Moses is a figure of Jesus, King David is a figure of Jesus, Ezekiel is a figure of Jesus, and King Cyrus is ALSO a FIGURE of Jesus.

And here is WHY I say this. When we COMPARE Scripture with Scripture, we will see many likenesses between what Yahweh says about King Cyrus and what Yahweh prophesied about his ANOINTED one, who we as Christians now know and understand to be Jesus our Lord and Savior.

In Isaiah 45:1, Yahweh is speaking to His ANOINTED. In other words, in “history” Yahweh is speaking to king Cyrus, whom He ANOINTED to be His king. And in PROPHECY, Yahweh is speaking to His ANOINTED, the Son of MAN, Jesus, whom He anointed as His King of kings and Lord of lords to rule FOR Him as God over the earth during the world to come.

Also, in verse 1, we see that Yahweh held His ANOINTED in his right hand to subdue nations. This was fulfilled in history with a literal king Cyrus, and it will be fulfilled AGAIN during the world to come when God OPENS the two leaved gates to bring His first begotten into the world again at the return of Jesus, according to Hebrews 1:6, and Isaiah 41:1-6.

Now, we all agree that Jesus will return as a mighty WARRIOR. So, to me, Yahweh GIRDING His ANOINTED elect means that Yahweh strengthens Jesus for WAR against Yahweh’s enemies, Satan, the Devil, and the fallen angels.

Isaiah 13:3.

“I have commanded My sanctified ones, (Speaking of giving all of the saints the honor to execute the vengeance of Yahweh, according to Psalm 149:7-9) I have ALSO called My mighty ones for My anger, (Speaking of the army of angels who remained faithful to Yahweh, according to the TWO ARMIES that will come WITH Jesus in Revelation 19:14-21) even them that rejoice in My highness.”

Again, two thirds of the angels sang for JOY when they got the VICTORY over the rebellious angels, according to Job 38:7, when it is correctly translated. In other words, most of the angels rejoice that Yahweh is their God as being the God of gods.

Now that you now and understand that the one whomYahweh prophesied to GIRD with strength is a prophecy of Jesus, let me remind you that this verse ALSO says the Jesus did NOT KNOW Yahweh.  Again, Jesus did NOT KNOW Yahweh at the TIME that this prophecy was prophesied. And that PROVES that there was NO so-called pre-existing Son of God who was WITH God at God’s side in the eternity past.

So then, the TRUTH of who Jesus TRULY is according to the WHOLE word of Almighty God is that Yahweh GAVE His anointed human Son the NAME, the God of Israel. Please read the CONTEXT of Isaiah 45:5 in verse 3 from several different translations so that you can see that the verb “AM” is NOT in the original Hebrew text.

Isaiah 45:3 from the King James Version.

“And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, which call you by your name, am the God of Israel.”

In other words, Yahweh GAVE the Son of MAN, Jesus, a NEW NAME. And the NEW NAME of the now glorified Son of MAN, Jesus, is the God of Israel. Not that the Son of God always existed as God the Son in the eternity past! For you see, the CONTEXT says that Yahweh ANOINTED one whom never KNEW Yahweh until Yahweh opened his eyes and GAVE him the tongue of the learned, according to Isaiah 50:4-9.

Let us now read Isaiah 45:3 from some other translations.

Bible in Basic English Isaiah 45:3.

“And I will give you the stores of the dark, and the wealth of secret places, so that you may be certain that I am the Lord, who GAVE you your NAME, even the God of Israel.”

The name “Israel” means “he shall RULE as God”. And thus, we should read the phrase “the God of Israel” as, I Yahweh GAVE you the NAME God who shall RULE as God.

World English Bible Isaiah 45:3.

“And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that it is I, Yahweh, who call you by your NAME, even the God of Israel.”

Again, the prophecy in Isaiah 62:1-12, the Messiah of Yahweh was GIVEN a NEW NAME. Notice the GATES in that prophecy as well. Now, I believe that the GATES is Yahweh BENDING heaven to come down though what some call a “worm-hole” or a portal, a gateway from the spirit realm to the physical realm.

 Websters Bible Isaiah 45:3.

“And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, who call [you] by your NAME, [am] the God of Israel.”

This translation was honest to place the ADDED words in brackets so that the readers will know that that they are NOT in the original text. Christians need to know and understand that we are reading TRANSLATIONS of the Bible. 

In other words, the Bible written in the ORIGINAL text is the INSPIRED words of Yahweh, but not ALL translations are “inspired by Yahweh”. And that is why we need to COMPARE all translations and never place all of our trust in just one single translation. 

For you see, SOME of the “TRANSLATED verses” are actually inspired by the god of this present world, Satan, the Devil, as you will soon see shortly in this Verse Study.

Douay-Rheims Bible Isaiah 45:3.

“And I will give you hidden treasures, and the concealed riches of secret places: that you may know that I am the Lord who call you by your name, the God of Israel.”

Or even more correctly translated, I, Yahweh call in you the NAME “God who shall RULE as God.” The word “by” literally means in or into you the NAME, God of Israel, which means God who shall RULE AS God. And that is exactly what we see as being the FULFILLMENT of the Scriptures.

Let us read one more translation of verse 3 before we take a CLOSER look at Isaiah 45:5 to correctly interpret it in the LIGHT of Yahweh GIVING His Messiah a NEW NAME to RULE AS God over the earth during the world to come.

Lexham English Bible Isaiah 45:3.

“And I will give you [the] treasures of darkness and treasures of secret places so that you may know that I [am] Yahweh, the one who calls [you] by your name, the God of Israel,”

I encourage all Trinitarian and Oneness Pentecostal Christians to ask themselves questions like WHY would an already Almighty God need to be GIVEN so many things FROM Almighty God, if Jesus is indeed Almighty God Himself in the flesh.

Let us now read Isaiah 45:5 from a few different translation so that you can see that WITHOUT Yahweh there would be no other Gods to RULE as Gods over different parts of Yahweh’s creation of the universe.

Wycliffe Isaiah 45:5.

“I am the Lord, and there is no more; WITHOUT Me is no God. I have girded you, and you KNEW NOT Me. (I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God besides me. I have girded you, though you knew me not.)”

Again, to me, this proves that there was NO so-called pre-existing Son of God in the eternity past.

New International Version Isaiah 45:5.

“I am the LORD, and there is no other; APART FROM Me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me,”

From these two translations and from the MEANINGS of the Hebrew words in the original text, we can see that the KJV and many of the modern translations are BIASED toward the doctrine of the Trinity and the doctrine of Jesus being Almighty God the Father Himself who became flesh.

But before we dig any deeper into verse 5, let us learn the TRUE sound Biblical God INTENDED meaning of Isaiah 45:7. And then, you will understand the TRUE sound Biblical meaning of verse 5 in this chapter of Isaiah.

Isaiah 45:6,7.

“That they (Speaking of Satan, the Devil, and the fallen angels or the fallen Elohim who became Yahweh’s ENEMIES, according to Psalm 8:1-6) may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside Me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. (Or more correctly “translated” there is NONE or no other Elohim WITHOUT Me, and there is NONE FALLEN Elohim henceforth never again) 

Isaiah 45:7. I form the light, and create darkness: (Or correctly translated, I, form the LIGHT, and I CUT DOWN darkness) I make PEACE, and create evil: (Or correctly translated, I make PEACE to END the WAR in heaven, and I CUT DOWN EVIL) I the LORD do all these things.”

So then, the prophecy in the last half of Isaiah 45:5 is a prophecy of Yahweh’s Messiah, whom He GIRDED with the strength of TWO ARMIES, the armies of the glorified immortal saints in Jesus Christ, and Yahweh’s army of faithful angels, which alone is TWICE the number of the fallen angels. Plus, Yahweh is coming WITH His mighty Warrior Jesus and the two armies to CUT DOWN the high ones who waged a war against Him during the previous age of the earth. And that war in heaven is brought under control, and will be brought to and end on the final Day of Judgment.

Now that you understand the TRUE sound Biblical CONTEXT of Isaiah 45:5, let is dig even deeper to see its full true sound Biblical meaning in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

The Hebrew word “zûlâh” translated as “besides” Me in verse 5 in the KJV means SCATTERING and REMOVING. As in, the enemy is trying to scatter and remove Yahweh from His throne. The enemy wants to either remove Yahweh off the throne or remove themselves from being under Yahweh’s throne of authority.

 Satan’s strategy is to DIVIDE and conquer by ambush. Or scatter and remove. Satan scattered the church and slowly removed the knowledge of the power and the authority in the NAME of Jesus, the NEW NAME that Yahweh GAVE to His Messiah.

From H2107; properly scattering, that is, removal; used adverbially except: – beside, but, only, save.

The Hebrew word translated as NONE in verse 5 means there is TO BE NOTHING else. And the Hebrew word translated as “else” means any more, to continue. In other words, Yahweh prophesied that concerning the scattering and removal there shall be no more of it to continue AGAINST Me.

I say AGAINST Yahweh because that is what the CONTEXT itself is conveying. For you see, there are Elohim, as in, the rebellious fallen Elohim that are trying to REMOVE Yahweh’s throne of authority over them.

And Yahweh is saying to THEM, you would not even be one of the Elohim WITHOUT me. And I will have no more of this rebellion against my throne of authority.

Now let us read a paraphrased version of Isaiah 45:5 with this understand that Yahweh is in the process of CUTTING DOWN darkness and all EVIL to make PEACE by ENDING all darkness and evil by forming the LIGHT, His NEW creation of new creatures of righteousness.

Paraphrase Version of Isaiah 45:5.

“I am Yahweh, and there will be NO MORE dividing among the Elohim to remove yourselves from under Me. I girded you, though you have NOT KNOW Me.”

In other words, Yahweh girded His NEW Elohim who was NOT an Elohim in the previous age of the earth when this war started. For you see, it says, I girded you though you have NOT KNOWN me. And I have girded you to CUT DOWN the fallen Elohim for me. And Yahweh is doing this to PROVE to ALL of the Elohim that WITHOUT Him there would not be any of the Elohim. For you see, Yahweh SET them to become RULERS under and subject to Him. The word God is simply a TERM or title for all of the rulers. And THE Elohim is the HIGHEST Elohim because He CREATED all of the other Elohim.

Let us read another prophecy of Jesus as king Cyrus being a FIGURE of Son of MAN, Jesus, being given the DOMINION over ALL of the kingdoms of the earth, according to Daniel 7:13,14.

Ezra 1:2.

“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven has given me ALL the kingdoms of the earth; and He has charged me to build Him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.”

Judah is a figure of the church, the house or the TEMPLE of Yahweh, the NEW Jerusalem. The king Cyrus in history was not given ALL of the kingdoms of the earth.

Isaiah 22:21.  

“And I will clothe him with your robe, and strengthen him with your girdle, and I will commit your government (As being the god of this present world) into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.” 

Isaiah 45:6,7 when correctly TRANSLATED.

“That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west. (Or from the resurrection of the LIGHT there is the going down of darkness) Assuredly, no END of darkness WITHOUT me. I am the LORD, and there is to be NO MORE darkness and evil.

Isaiah 7. I form the light, and CUT DOWN darkness: I make PEACE, and CUT DOWN evil: I the LORD do all these things.”

And to me, that is the TRUE sound Biblical God INTENDED meaning of Isaiah 45:5. There are MANY Gods and MANY Lords. But to us as Christians we do NOT worship either the fallen angels or the good angel. To us as Christians, there is but ONE God who ALONE is the Father. And also to us, there is ONE Lord, Jesus Christ, whom Yahweh the Father commands us to honor even as we honor the Father. 

In other words, we are not to worship Jesus as BEING Yahweh Himself, but rather, we are to worship Jesus as being the WORKMANSHIP of Yahweh the Father.

The first thing Christians need to understand is that the Hebrew word Elohim and the Greek word Theos that are both translated as God with a capital “G” as God to refer to THE Almighty God who alone in the Creator. But ALSO the same words mean god and gods with a lowercase “g” translated as a god and as many gods. And in SOME verses, the capital “G” should be translated with a lowercase “g”. For example, Job 1:16 should be translated as fire of god came down from heaven and NOT from THE Almighty God the Creator.

Now, the Creator God is called the God OF gods, which means that the gods who He SET, anointed, or appointed to become gods, are under and subject to their Creator.

But some of those gods, who are called the angels, rebelled and waged a WAR against the Creator God and the angels who remain faithful to Him.

In other words, that WAR was in heaven, what we call the universe.

And one side of heaven was against the other side of heaven throughout the universe.

Now, the Creator and His faithful angels got victory over the fallen angels. And Yahweh PREPARED a fire to destroy the Devil and his angels who waged this war against the authority of God’s throne or God’s RULE over them.

So then, think of one of the meanings of the words or terms Elohim, Theos, and the English words God, god, and gods, to mean THE SUPREME highest RULER, who alone is the Creator. 

But ALSO know and understand that these SAME words mean the GOOD faithful RULERS who are under and subject to the Creator God. 

And, also know and understand the one third of the gods or RULERS who were once GOOD gods or good rulers and they CORRUPTED themselves and waged a literal real intergalactic WAR against Yahweh.

The fallen gods wanted MORE power and authority. They did not just want to rule over what Yahweh committed unto them to rule over as WATCHERS, and attendants to be good stewards over His creations. But rather, they wanted to be like Yahweh to rule over the other gods, to be ABOVE the STARS.

The word “stars” symbolically refers to the angels like the phrase, the sons of God refer to the angels both good and fallen angels.

Then, when God PREPARED to destroy them, one of the fallen angels named Lucifer FALSELY ACCUSED Yahweh of CREATING them flawed or with a rebellious nature.

Now, Yahweh could have gone ahead and destroyed them anyway, but the TRUE CHARACTER of Yahweh is GOOD, loving, merciful, forgiving, longsuffering, patient, kind, righteous, JUST, and TRUTHFUL.

So God devised an ingenious PLAN to END the war and bring PEACE throughout the universe and also PROVE that what he CREATES He creates PERFECT on the day that He created it.

And part of God’s plan that He kept a SECRET from His enemies was to give the fallen angels enough rope to HANG themselves, so to speak.

In other words, God would LET them continue to corrupt their ways, but with LIMITATIONS. In other words, Yahweh laid the FOUNDATION of the earth that He RESTORED to be habitable once again.

Then God made man and the Son of MAN a little LOWER than the angels, BECAUSE OF His ENEMIES in order to STILL the ENEMIES the Adversary, who BLASPHEMED Yahweh;s NAME of good character, according to Psalm 8:1-6, and Psalm 74:18, Psalm 139:20, and many other passages of Scripture.

And Almighty God the Father is doing all or this to clear His name, the character of Yahweh, that has been polluted by the enemy in the previous age of the earth. But even to this day Satan still pollutes Yahweh name or CHARACTER by deceiving men to BLAME God for all the EVIL in the world. 

Now, all that Yahweh need to clear his name or character of being falsely accused as a faulty Creator was for ONE HUMAN to live his life without doing what Lucifer did.

For you see, God made man and the Son of MAN a little LOWER or inferior to the angels to prove that what He creates, He creates perfect on the day He created us. And thus, we are all BORN without sin and without a so-called sinful NATURE. That is another LIE of Satan to deceive man that we are born FLAWED.

Anyway, Jesus met all of the qualities in a human that Yahweh required.

#1. NOT to even think to grasp equality with God as something to take by force. Philppians 2:6

#2. To learn OBEDIENCE, even to die on the cross. Philippians 2:8-11.

#3. Then remain that good and faithful servant AFTER being EXALTED and SET on the HIGHEST throne ever given to any of God’s creation. Yet to be fulfilled during the world to come.

But God wanted MANY sons to REPLACE the fallen sons of God, the fallen angels or the fallen Elohim, the fallen gods, according to Hebrews 2:10, and Psalm 75:6,7.

And God is not stopping there with His NEW creature of NEW creatures of righteousness who have a portion of Yahweh’s Spirit dwelling in them.

For you see, in order to ENSURE that there will NEVER be another WAR or any other CORRUPTION in the universe, God will be ALL and in ALL by the end of this process of ENDING all EVIL for all eternity.

Now, Yahweh set the time duration of this process of a TRIAL to convict Satan and the fallen angels guilty as CHARGED, is 7 DAYS, which in our reckoning of time is 7,000 years.

And for our REWARD for SUFFERING TEMPTATION to overcome and do things God’s WAY is the GLORY that God prepared for EVERY human. But you see, ALL men have come SHORT of that GLORY, because all men have SINNED at one time or another in their life.

In other words, the SAME GLORY that Almighty God the Father GAVE to Jesus, He gave Jesus the authority and power to GIVE that GLORY to us who OVERCOME even as Jesus OVERCAME.

Paul said in Romans 8:18-20 that he reckons or he reasons that the things we SUFFER for the NAME sake of Jesus is nothing COMPARED to the GLORY we shall receive. For you see, in verse 20 we see that this WAR was NOT Yahweh’s doing. But rather, it was subjected upon Yahweh by His enemy. 

And according to Revelation 11:17, Yahweh took control of the war waged against His throne of authority and reigned. And to remain a JUST God, Yahweh made the choice to have a TRIAL by WITNESS to see WHO is the ONLY TRUTHFUL God and who is the LYING god.

Now, the Christadelphian Christians, as well as, some other church denominations, such as the Roman Catholic Church, sincerely, but wrongly believe in the FALSE doctrine or original sin. And thus, they build their other man-made doctrines upon the false doctrine of every person being born with a so-called sinful NATURE.

Again, once Christians understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands. 

And that you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels. 

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
