Can People LEARN to GO ASTRAY?

The Christians who teach the doctrine of original sin, the doctrine that teaches that we are all born with a Sinful Nature, and the doctrine of Total Depravity, all use Isaiah 53:6 to try to support their doctrines. 

In other words, they “interpret” the phrase “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way” to mean that we MUST have been BORN with a SINFUL NATURE that we ALL inherited because of the sin of Adam.

But that is NOT the God intended meaning of Isaiah 53:6 or any other verse of Scripture. 

First of all, is says that we are ALL like SHEEP. It does NOT say that we ALL go astray. Yes, SOME sheep go astray, and according to the words of Jesus in Luke 15:4, the shepherd leaves the 99 who did NOT go astray to find the ONE lost sheep.

Secondly, the Lamb was SLAIN in the mind and plan of God BEFORE the foundation of the world BECAUSE of the ENEMIES of God. In other words, SIN was ALREADY in the universe BEFORE God created Adam and Eve. For you see, the foundation of the world was AFTER Lucifer convinced one third of God’s angel to wage a WAR against Yahweh and the angels who remained faithful to Yahweh.

And in order to put an END to that inter-galactic war having one side of heaven against that other side of heaven, according to Deuteronomy 4:32, God said to the Elohim, let us make MAN in our image and after our image.

And then, God made man and the Son of MAN a little LOWER to inferior to the Elohim, which is translated as the angels in Psalm 8:5, BECAUSE of His ENEMIES to STILL the enemy the Avenger, AKA, Satan, the Devil. 

And who is also known as the dragon, the serpent, and the leviathan, the king of the children of pride, the prince of devils, the prince of the AIR, the spirit that now works in the children of DISOBEDIENCE, according to Ephesians 2:2.

So then, Isaiah 53:6 means exactly as it says, we all have GONE ASTRAY, we, as in SOME people, have TURNED to go their OWN WAY. 

In other words, we ALL have SINNED at some point in our life and have come SHORT of the GLORY that God PREPARE for ALL humans to receive.

But some people have TURNED to their OWN way, loving the pleasures of sin more than the love the TRUTH. And sadly, some Christians have turned or converted to Islam, Judaism, Spiritualism, New Age, the Occult, Cults, and even have become atheist to say there is no God.

Now, they can REPENT and still be saved if they do so before they die or before Jesus returns, whichever comes first.

My point right now is that Isaiah 53:6 does NOT mean that we are all BORN with a so-called SINFUL NATURE.

For you see, you cannot GO ASTRAY from God if you were never a follower of God. And if a so-called sinful nature is what CAUSES all people to sin, then that would mean the even true born-again Christians STILL HAVE a so-called sinful nature.

But you see, if that were true, then that would mean that the NEW heart and the NEW SPIRIT that God created in us is a SINFUL heart and a SINFUL new Spirit.

So, NO! Absolutely NOT! Isaiah 53:6 does NOT mean that we were all BORN with a so-called SINFUL NATURE as some Christians CLAIM.

But rather, we LEARN bad behavior, and if we practice and exercise that bad behavior, it becomes habitual and part of our NATURE or a natural instinct. Kind of like losing your temper. If you never discipline yourself to CONTROL your emotions, then you just ACCEPT that being a “hothead” is just your nature. And it that were true, then not one person who has an anger problem could ever learn to control the anger.

Simply look at what the WHOLE word of God teaches. Do any verses specifically state as a fact with no interpretation needed that we are BORN with as SINFUL NATURE.

I will save you the time, there is no such verse of Scripture. But on the other hand, there are many verses of Scripture that say we LEARN bad behavior.

2 Peter 2:7,8 says that the RIGHTEOUS man Lot was VEXED with filthy communication by seeing and HEARING the WICKED from day to day.

1 Corinthians 15:33 says, “Be not deceived: evil communications CORRUPT good manners.” 

Common English Bible for 1 Corinthians 15:33.

“Don’t be deceived, bad company corrupts good character.”

And character means NATURE. So then, it is that BAD company or corrupt people who corrupt the pure innocent NATURE that we are all BORN with. 

Jesus himself LEARNED to refuse the evil and to CHOOSE to good. He learned OBEDIENCE by the things that he SUFFERED. And what Jesus SUFFERED was being TEMPTED in all points like we are tempted by Satan, the Devil.

Isaiah 7:14-16.

“Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. 

Isaiah 7:15. Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may KNOW to refuse the evil, and choose the good. 

Isaiah 7:16. For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that you abhor shall be forsaken of both her kings.”

Now, Jesus had the Holy Spirit visit him every morning to teach him the Scriptures, according to Isaiah 50:4,5.

The TRUTH of the matter is that what we inherited because of the sin of Adam and Eve is our CONSCIENCE to KNOW right from wrong even as a baby and most certainly as a toddle.

Some argue that they did NOT teach their children bad behavior, and therefore, they must have been BORN with a sinful nature. For how else could little children know to do bad things?

Now. did Eve LEARN that the tree might not cause her to die? How did she KNOW? Who told her? She LISTENED to the LIES of Satan!

And children do the SAME thing, they listen to the thoughts that the ENEMY puts in their mind.

Galatians 5:7-9.

“You did run well; who did HINDER you that you should not obey the truth? 

Galatians 5:8. This persuasion comes not of him that calls you. 

Galatians 5:9. A little leaven leavens the whole lump.”

Mark 13:22. 

“For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to SEDUCE, if it were possible, even the elect.” 

Titus 1:9-11. 

“Holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. 

Titus 1:10. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 

Titus 1:11. Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake. 

So then, GOING ASTRAY does NOT demand that we are all BORN with a so-called SINFUL NATURE because of the sin of Adam and Eve. The Bible does not teach that we go astray from a SINFUL NATURE. No, we are not lead ASTRAY from SINFUL FLESH.

But rather, we go astray from that which is GOOD to BECOME corrupt. In fact, Ezekiel 18:1,20 PROVES that we are NOT born with a so-called sinful nature as some Christians claim.

Ezekiel 18:1,2.

“Yet you say, why does the son NOT bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done that which is lawful and right, and has kept all my statutes, and has done them, he shall surely live. 

Ezekiel 18:20. The soul that SINS, it shall die. The son shall NOT bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.”

So again, NO! 2 Peter 2:12 does NOT prove that ANY human is BORN with a sinful NATURE. But rather, every human being LEARNS to walk in righteousness. And sadly, some people LEARN to corrupt their own minds and harden their own hearts to SIN against their conscience.

And the TRUTH of the matters is that every man has sinned at some point in the life, we all have FALLEN short of the glory of God BECAUSE we all have SINNED at one time or another in our life.

And it was Satan, the DEVIL who entices us to SIN.

Now sadly, Christadelphian Christians do NOT believe that Satan, the Devil, is a REAL literal BEING. And the Christadelphian Christians ALSO wrongly believe, as well as, some other church denominations, that God created EVIL and that Yahweh is the CAUSE of all of the EVIL in the world. 

Plus, Christadelphian Christians, as well as other church denominations such as the Roman Catholic Church, sincerely, but wrongly believe in the FALSE doctrine or original sin. And thus, they build their other man-made doctrines upon the false doctrine of every person being born with a so-called sinful NATURE.

Again, once Christians understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands. 

And that you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels. 

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
