Did God SEND Satan to Kill Job’s Family?

Some Christians use verses like Job 1:12 to try to prove that Almighty God created EVIL, sends Satan to do His dirty work, and that God is the cause of ALL EVIL in the world.

Those Christians are known by the denominational names called Calvinism, Reformed Theology, Grace ALONE Christians, and Christadelphian Christians. There may be other smalled groups of Christians who wrongly BLAME Almighty God for all the evil in the world, but these are the ones that I have come across.

And some of their arguments can seem quite convincing when you do not keep the verse that they use in their CONTEXT. In other words, all false teachers take verses out of their context and reads into those verses their own preconceived belief. And Job 1:12 is one of those verses that has been made to seem like God is the cause of all evil, that even some TRANSLATIONS can only be interpreted in that way.

For example, here is Job 1:12 from the New International Version and the Bible in Basic English. Both of these translations make it seem as if God is COMMANDING Satan to do His “dirty work” so to speak.

Job 1:12 from the NIV.

“The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.”

Job 1:12 from the Bible in Basic English.

“And the Lord said to the Satan, See, I give all he has into your hands, only do not put a finger on the man himself. And the Satan went out from before the Lord.”

But when we read Job 1:12 from some other translations, then we can see the TRUE sound Biblical meaning that agrees with the CONTEXT in the entire book of Job.

Job 1:12 from the Message Bible.

“God replied, “We’ll see. Go ahead – do what you want with all that is his. Just don’t hurt him.” Then Satan left the presence of God.”

From the translation in the Message Bible, we can clearly see that when God told Satan to CONSIDER Job, then Satan replied back to God, Job only serves you because of all you have blessed him with.

And thus, Satan tried to get God to take away all the He blessed Job with, and God said NO! I will not do that!

For you see, God does not do anything without a CAUSE, according to Job 2:3. And neither does God do anything without first WARNING His people, according to Amos 3:7 and Genesis 18:17-19. Plus, God seeks intercessors to pray for others when Satan seeks to oppress people, according to Isaiah 59:16.

God found Abraham to pray for the few who were righteous in Sodom and Gomorrah, according to Genesis 18:20-33. And God told Jesus to pray for Peter when God told Jesus that Satan desired to sift Peter as wheat, according to Luke 22:31-34. Then Jesus also warned and encouraged Peter to be strong in faith in John 13:36-38 through John 14:1-4. 

And, according to John 16:13, the Holy Spirit who dwells in us SHOWS us things to come, which includes warning us to NOT do things like giving into temptation to sin, getting into fear, and speaking negative or IDLE words that will open the door to judgment, according to Matthew 12:34-37.

Rather, God is NOT afraid that His servant with give into the temptations and oppressions from Satan. And thus, God ALLOWS Satan to TEST Job to have another WITNESS to PROVE that Satan is a LIAR! God is looking for FAITHFUL witness like His Son Jesus. So, do NOT BLAME God for what Satan does. And NEITHER give GLORY to Satan for what Almighty God does. The GIFTS of the Holy Spirit have NOT CEASED as some Christians WRONGLY claim and give the glory to Satan when it is Yahweh who HEALS people today.

Job 1:12 from the New Living Translation.

“All right, you may test him,” the LORD said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the LORD’s presence.”

Now, what the Christians who blame God for all of the evil in the world have failed to see, is that Job is a SHADOW or a FIGURE of Jesus.

Job 1:1,8-12.

“There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that MAN was PERFECT and UPRIGHT, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil…

…And the LORD said unto Satan, Have you CONSIDERED my servant Job, that there is NONE LIKE him in the earth, a PERFECT and an UPRIGHT man, one that fears God, and eschews evil? (What about Jesus who was perfect and without sin? Can you not see that Job is a PICTURE of Jesus? No parable, figure, type, shadow, or allegory matches every single point for point with Jesus. And the POINT that God is making here is that there is NO MAN like Jesus who will NOT give into ANY of your temptations Satan)

Job 1:9. Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Does Job fear God for no reason? 

Job 1:10. Do You not have an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 

Job 1:11.  But put forth Your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to Your face. 

Job 1:12  And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power; only upon himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.”

So then, in the LIGHT of the CONTEXT and in the light of the whole theme of the Bible, God is ALLOWING His ENEMY to TEST mankind to see WHO will serve the only TRUTHFUL God and who will serve the LYING god, Satan, the Devil.

Always remember that Lucifer falsely accused God of “creating” him flawed. And God said to Lucifer, His anointed cherub that he was PERFECT in the day that God created him. And he remained perfect all the way to the day that iniquity was found in him by Lucifer CORRUPTING himself.

Ezekiel 28:12-19.

“Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, thus said the Lord GOD; You seal up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 

Ezekiel 28:13. You have been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of your tabrets and of your pipes was prepared in you in the day that you were created. 

Ezekiel 28:14. You are the anointed cherub that covers; and I have SET you so: you were upon the holy mountain of God; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 

Ezekiel 28:15. You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, till iniquity was found in you. 

Ezekiel 28:16. By the multitude of your merchandise, they have filled the midst of you with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore, I will cast you as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 

Ezekiel 28:17. Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness: I will cast you to the ground, I will lay you before kings, that they may behold you. 

Ezekiel 28:18. You have defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your traffic; therefore, will I bring forth a fire from the midst of you, it shall devour you, and I will bring you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all of them that behold you. 

Ezekiel 28:19. All they that know you among the people shall be astonished at you: you shall be a terror, and never shall you be any more.”

So then, to me, the TRUE sound Biblical meaning of Job 1:12 is that God choose to ALLOW Satan to CONTINUE to be rebellious in order to PROVE to all of the GOOD angels that Satan is a LIAR and that what God CREATES He creates PERFECT on the day the He created them, and humans made a little LOWER and INFERIOR to them.

Now, the Christadelphian Christians do not even believe that Satan, the Devil is a REAL literal being.

And, those Christadelphian Christians, as well as, some other church denominations, such as the Roman Catholic Church, ALSO sincerely, but wrongly believe in the FALSE doctrine or original sin. And thus, they build their other man-made doctrines upon the false doctrine of every person being born with a so-called sinful NATURE.

Again, once Christians understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands. 

And that you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels. 

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
