Here is Luke 10:18 from the KJV. “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.”
Did Jesus have a vision of SIN falling from heaven? NO! Jesus had a vision of SATAN falling from heaven like lightening falls from heaven with a thundering crash
But yet Christadelphians teach that Satan is NOT a REAL being.
And this Verse Study is to show how the ERROR in interpreting the Scriptures.

Christadelphians Teach that Satan is a TERM!
Let us begin this verse study by reading a quote from a Christadelphian website, which teaches that the word “satan” is simply a TERM for the power of sin and evil. The emphasis is mine.
“When the disciples returned to Jesus, delighted because they had been able to cure diseases, he said to them: “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:18); that is, he foresaw the time to come when not just disease but all the power of sin and evil, summed up in the term “Satan”, will be thrown down from its ruling position in the world; it will be “dethroned” and replaced by the power of God, when Christ returns to establish God’s Kingdom in the earth.
This, then, is the simple key which unlocks the problem passages about the devil and Satan: look for the source of it in the power of sin shown in the desires, the weaknesses and the actions of men; and the majority of passages will become plain.
In other words, the leaders of the Christadelphian Christians are teaching their followers, that when other Christians point out verses of Scripture that really seem like Satan is a REAL BEING, then here is what you do to EXPLAIN AWAY that “problem” passage of Scripture.
The key is that you need to think of Satan as being a TERM for sin and evil and that will make the MAJORITY of the passages become clear that Satan and EVIL go hand and hand. So, simply think of Satan as being sin and everything evil such as sickness and disease and the problem passages are solved, no more problem in your mind.
Now here is the problem with that Christadelphian “interpretation” that Satan is NOT a REAL being.
First of all, by their TEACHING they are BLAMING God for all sickness and disease.
Secondly, they are BLAMING God for all SIN.
Thirdly, they are BLAMING God for ALL EVIL.
And, they are saying that God will CAST DOWN the RULING PLACE of all of those things that the TERM Satan means like lightening comes down to the earth.
WHAT? Did God CHANGE and decided to stop oppressing mankind with sickness and disease? For you see, without there being any REAL Devil, then Christadephians have no other option, nut to BLAME God for all EVIL in the world. And thus, to them, it will seem like God changed His mind.
NO! Of course not! But rather, the Christadelphian Christians have been greatly DECEIVE by seducing spirits and doctrines of devil, according to the prophecy in 1 Timothy 4:1,2, to wrongly believe that the Devil is not a REAL being.
1 Timothy 4:1,2.
“Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall DEPART from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (Or TEACHINGS of devils, such as the Christadelphian teaching that devils are NOT REAL BEINGS and THE Devil, the prince of devils is also NOT a REAL literal BEING)
1 Timothy 4:2. Speaking LIES in hypocrisy; (Or speaking lies based on feigned or false pretenses) having their conscience (Or having their CO-PERCEPTION) seared with a hot iron;”
The word co-perception meaning seeing the traits of something and the entity itself as having those traits or characteristics. And a SEARED co-perception means that the TWO separate things are melted together like a hot iron melts a decal to a tee-shirt.
In other words, two separate things are wrongly taught as being one and the selfsame thing. And thus, it is a LIE based upon FALSE pretenses. Satan is NOT sin itself! But rather, he is the father of sin, the originator of the FIRST sin during a previous age of the earth.
Let us now read Luke 10:18 being left in its CONTEXT so you can see that sickness and disease comes from EVIL spirits and NOT from Almighty God out of heaven.
Luke 10:17-20.
“And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are SUBJECT unto us through your name.
Luke 10:18. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. (Speaking of the first heaven, the sky or the atmosphere of the earth. That is where the principalities and rulers of DARKNESS reign over the earth. They are the fallen angels or the fallen gods. And Satan is their king, THE Devil or the prince of devils, the seducing spirits)
Luke 10:19. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over ALL the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Satan, the Devil, has more than just ONE power)
Luke 10:20. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are SUBJECT unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”
Now, are spirits REAL literal BEINGS? YES! Absolutely, they are real literal beings. If not, then Almighty God Himself is NOT a real being, that is of course, if SPIRITS are not real beings. For you see, Jesus said God is a Spirit in John 4:24.
And in Hebrews 1:7, God said He makes His angels spirits, which I believe should be understood as God made some of the fallen angels “disembodied” spirits. Click on the link to read that Verse Study on Hebrews 1:7.
But for now, we all agree that Jesus was ANOINTED by God with the Holy Spirit and POWER, according to Acts 10:38. And he went about doing good and healing all who were oppresses by the Devil for God was WITH him.
So then, did Jesus HEAL REAL diseases? Yes, of course he did! And Jesus teaches us in some of those healings, such as the woman with the “spirit” of infirmity in Luke 13:11-13, that evil spirits bound that sickness or disease upon those people.
The TRUTH of the matter is that Jesus and the disciples of Jesus cast out REAL spirit BEINGS that were oppressing people with all kinds of sicknesses and diseases.
And since those devils are REAL literal beings, the so is the prince of devil, Satan, THE Devil.
When we compare Scripture with Scripture, Jesus ALSO said that Satan is being JUDGED. Know you not that WE shall JUDGE the angels?
In John 16:11, Jesus said that the prince of this world will be JUDGED.
John 16:11.
“Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”
And Satan, the Devil, is the prince of this present world. Satan is Lucifer, the fallen anointed Cherub who seduced one third of the angels to wage a literal intergalactic WAR against the other side of heaven, Yahweh and His faithful angels.
Matthew 9:34.
“But the Pharisees said, He casts out devils through the prince of the devils.”
Jesus said that the blasphemed the Holy Spirit by saying that he cast out evil spirits called devils by the power of Satan instead of by the power of Almighty God. But the point is that the devils and the prince of devils were REAL being to the Jews, to Jesus, and the Almighty God. And they are real being to 99% of other Christians who are not Christadelphian Christians. And they are definitely REAL beings to those who have been possessed by devil and now set FREE.
John 12:31.
“Now is the JUDGMENT of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
Jesus is a real being and God made him a prince over the earth for us who believe so that WE can have power over the prince of this present world in the NAME of Jesus. And mere common sense teaches us that a “prince” is a REAL being. Why would Yahweh have a trial to judge a CONCEPT? NO! The JUDGMENT is for a REAL being, the arch enemy of Yahweh called Satan, the Devil
John 14:30.
“Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world comes and has nothing in me.
Jesus came to destroy the WORKS of the Devil, according to 1 John. And Jesus also came to set us free from the dominion of Satan, translating us into the Kingdom of God, and giving us power in the NAME of Jesus to cast out devils and heal the sick.
Ephesians 2:2.
“Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now WORKS in the children of disobedience:”
Again, Satan, the Devil, is a spirit being who is the prince over the fallen angels ruling in the air as principalities and powers. And that brings us full circle right back to the verse in question, did Jesus have a vision of a REAL BEING falling from heaven? To me, the answer is a DEFINITE YES! There is no doubt that Satan is a REAL spirit being, the leader of the fallen angels.
Luke 10:18.
“And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.”
I will close this Verse Study on Luke 10:18 to remind you of the WAR in heaven that BEGAN during a previous AGE of the earth BEFORE God created MAN and the Son of MAN BECAUSE of His ENEMIES, according to Psalm 8:1-6.
Revelation 12:7.
“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
Revelation 12:8. And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
Revelation 12:9. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, (That was in the Garden of Eden who enticed or tempted Eve to disobey God by speaking words of LIES to her ear or to her mind. And he is) called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
So again, NO! Satan is NOT simply a TERM used in the Bible to describe SIN and EVIL. But rather, Satan is the father of SIN, EVIL, LIES, violence, WAR, and MURDER, according to the words of Jesus. Well, I thought I was done, but the Holy Spirit brought this passage of Scripture to my remembrance.
John 8:43-45.
“Why do you (Christadelphians) not understand my speech? Even because (Some of) you cannot hear my word. (Because you testify that you do NOT have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you. For you see, your leaders have wrongly taught you that ONLY the original Apostles could GIVE the Holy Spirit based on their own private “interpretation” of Acts 8:16,17. That is just ONE of the ways to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit)
John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. (And one of the things Satan loves to do is the BLAME God for EVERYTHING, just like SOME Christadelphians do) He was a murderer from the beginning, (And to hate your brother is that same as murder, according to 1 John 3:15) and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
John 8:45. And because I tell you the TRUTH, you believe me not.

Now, the Christadelphian Christians, as well as, some other church denominations, such as the Roman Catholic Church, sincerely, but wrongly believe in the FALSE doctrine or original sin. And thus, they build their other man-made doctrines upon the false doctrine of every person being born with a so-called sinful NATURE.
Again, once Christians understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.
And that you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
