What Does Revelation 12:9 TRULY Mean?

In part 1 of this series of sound Biblical Bible studies, we learned that the Christadelphian Christians do NOT believe that Satan, the Devil is a REAL BEING.

However, Jesus himself and his Apostles do indeed believe that the Devil Satan and the devils are REAL BEINGS that they are our ENEMIES to be resided and cast out of people that they OPPRESS and POSSESS.

So then, if you SAY that you are a Christian and you SAY you believe the words of Jesus and his Apostles, then listen CLOSELY to what John the Apostle teaches us in the Book of Revelation.

For you see, Revelation 12:9, which we will read in a moment, CLEARLY teaches us that the great Dragon is prophesied to be cast out of heaven, speaking of the first heaven, the sky or the atmosphere of the earth. 

For you see, that is where the principalities and powers of the AIR operate from, according to Ephesians 2:2, Ephesians 3:10, Ephesians 6:12, and Luke 21:26.

And that great Dragon is that OLD serpent CALLED the Devil and Satan, who DECEIVES the whole world.

And both the word “Dragon” and the word “Serpent” are indeed found in the Old Testament.

Plus, the Devil, also called Satan, is a SINGLE being, a fallen ANGEL, who has other fallen angels as his followers.

And Almighty God has PREPARE a fire to DESTROY the Devil and his angels. God would not prepare a LITERAL fire to destroy a so-called TERM that merely represents SIN and EVIL. 

NO! God is going to JUDGE and destroyed the LITERAL REAL spirit being called Satan the Devil and his angels.

We all agree that the angels are REAL beings, and mere logic should teach Christadelphna Christians that Satan is also a REAL BEING. 

Matthew 25:41.  

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” 

People are NOT angels and the lake of fire was originally prepared FOR the Devil and his angels.

So, to me, the Devil is an ANGEL, as in, one of the fallen angels. And he is not just any angel, but THE Adversary is a king over the fallen angels.

Revelation 9:11.  

“And they had a king over them, which is the ANGEL of the bottomless pit, whose NAME in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue has his NAME Apollyon.” 

So then, Satan’s NAME is Abaddon in Hebrew, which means destroying angel. And his NAME in Greek is Apollyon, which means a destroyer, that is Satan.

And Satan means adversary or ENEMY. And Satan is the angel of the bottomless pit. And during the 1000-year reign of Jesus, Satan will be BOUND with a great chain and cast into the bottomless pit for 1000 years.

Revelation 20:1-3.  

“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 

Revelation 20:2. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 

Revelation 20:3. And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.” 

Now, if Satan was simply another TERM for SIN, then there would be NO SIN during the 1000 year reign of Jesus, because sin would be BOUND for 1000 years. That is of course, if the God intended meaning of the word Devil simply means SIN, which it does NOT, according to the vast amount of sound Scriptural prove.

Also, Zechariah 14:16-18 clearly teaches us that SOME people will sin during the 1000 year reign of Jesus. And thus, Satan being BOUND for 1000 years does NOT mean that SIN is bound for a 1000 years as the Christadelphian Christians CLAIM.

With that being said, let us now read Revelation 12:29 in its CONTEXT. For you see, Revelation 12:7-13, clearly teaches us that the Devil is a REAL BEING.

Revelation 12:7-13.

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels FOUGHT AGAINST the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,  (Now, Michael is a good angel, who is called a prince. And SIN is not going to FIGHT AGAINST Michael and his angels. Jesus did not die on the cross for the sins of the angels.

So then, this is a LITERAL REAL WAR. And thus, the Dragon and his angels are REAL BEINGS and NOT simple “terms” that represent SIN and EVIL. But rather, these are REAL BEING who are evil who are fighting now and will continue to fight against Michael and his angels)

Revelation 12:8. And prevailed NOT; neither was their place found any more in heaven. (Lucifer and his angels were cast out of the second and third heavens some 12,000 years ago. And 42 months before the coming of Jesus, Satan and his angels will be cast out of the first heaven, which is the air or the sky, the atmosphere around the earth. They will be cast down to the ground, and Satan’s wrath will be great, because he knows his time will be short, according to Revelation 12:12-14)

Revelation 12:9. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Again, SIN does not have angels that will be cast out of heaven with him. It makes no sense for SIN to be cast down to the earth having wrath because SIN has KNOWLEDGE of TIME and this its time is short)

Revelation 12:10. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is CAST DOWN, which accused them before our God day and night. 

Revelation 12:11. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 

Revelation 12:12. Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! (Now why would God say woe to the inhabitants of the earth if SIN is going to be CAST DOWN to the ground?First of all SIN is already in the earth. Secondly, Christadelphian Christians are WRONG, and the Devil is a REAL BEING that will be cast DOWN from his throne as the god of this present world) For the devil is come down unto you, having great WRATH, because he KNOWS that he has but a short time. 

Revelation 12:13. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.”

How can SIN PERSECUTE the Jews and make WAR against Israel? Sin cannot FIT MOST passages of Scripture. Yes, there are a few verses where one could “INTERPRET” that the Devil represents SIN. But to me, that interpretation is “twisting” the Scriptures to try to fit another INCORRECT interpretation of James 1:14. In other words, the Christadelphian Christians have built a FALSE doctrine of devils upon the FALSE foundation that we are drawn away by our OWN LUSTS

James 1:14 simply means that every person has their OWN demon so to speak. In other words, one person has their OWN lust for drugs. Another person has their OWN lust to steal. And yet a different person has their OWN lust to commit adultery. James 1:14 does NOT prove that the Devil is NOT a REAL being who TEMPTS people by enticing them with their OWN achilles heel so to speak. Satan knows our weak spot and everyone has their OWN weak spot that tempts them.

Here are a few more passages of Scripture that to me, CLEARLY teach us that Satan, the Devil is a REAL BEING.

Revelation 16:14.

“For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”

Now, SIN cannot work miracles, but REAL LITERAL spirit beings called devils CAN work miracles just as the Bible ITSELF clearly teaches us.

Matthew 13:37-39. 

“He answered and said unto them, He that sows the good seed is the Son of man; (Now we all know that the Son of MAN is speaking of Jesus. And Jesus is indeed a REAL BEING)

Matthew 13:38.  The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 

Matthew 13:39. The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.”

Now, every single thing in this parable are REAL BEINGS. 

The children of the kingdom are REAL BEINGS!

The children of the wicked one, the enemy, the Devil are REAL BEINGS!

The angels are REAL BEINGS!

The Son of MAN, Jesus, is a REAL BEING!

So mere common sense teaches us that the wicked on who is our ENEMY called the Devil is also a REAL BEING!

You have to be BLINDED by the god of this world to wrongly believe that Satan, the god of this world is NOT a REAL BEING!

So wake up my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, who are Christadelphian Christians. Stop believing the FALSE teachings of John Thomas, the FOUNDER of the Christadelphians. 

Why do you continue to follow the false teachings of a man who did not believe that there is a Devil, as in, a Devil LIKE the Devil that was pictured or visualized as a red being with a pointed tail and a trident pitchfork in his hand.

I agree that the Bible does not PICTURE the Devil to look like that. But to go off the deep end, so to speak, to invent a man-made doctrine that the Devil does not exist at all is to me, being SEDUCED by evil spirits teaching doctrines of devils, according to 1 Timothy 4:1,2.

This concludes this Verse Study on Revelation 12:9. Be sure to read the Verse Study on James 1:14 and the Bible Study on WHY Christadelphian Christians have errored in interpreting the Scriptures related to Satan, the Devil. They have failed to keep those verses in their CONTEXT and they have not TRULY considered all of the other verses of Scripture speaking about the Devil, which is indeed a REAL BEING. Now, the Christadelphian Christians, as well as, some other church denominations, such as the Roman Catholic Church, sincerely, but wrongly believe in the FALSE doctrine or original sin. And thus, they build their other man-made doctrines upon the false doctrine of every person being born with a so-called sinful NATURE.

Again, once Christians understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands. 

And that you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels. 

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
