What Does Death Passed to All Men TRULY Mean?

The Christians who teach the doctrine of original sin, the doctrine that teaches that we are all born with a Sinful Nature, and the doctrine of Total Depravity, all use Romans 5:12 to try to support their doctrines. 

In other words, they “interpret” the phrase “by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men” OUT of the CONTEXT of the phrase “FOR all have SINNED.”

The Greek word translated as “for” means BECAUSE. So then, the REASON that death PASSED to all humans is BECAUSE we ALL have SINNED.

And the context in the very next verse clearly teaches us that even though sin was in the world before the Law of Moses, the guilt or the punishment for sin was NOT IMPUTED to any human who sinned. 

Let us read Romans 5:12 in its context so that you can see that it does NOT mean that a so-called SINFUL NATURE was passed on or inherited by all humans.

Romans 5:6-14.

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (And Jesus also died for Abel, Enoch, Noah, Job and Abraham who God says are RIGHTEOUS and upright before Him)

Romans 5:7. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 

Romans 5:8. But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (In other words, some people might lay down their life for a good person, but Jesus laid down his life for the worst of sinners, so the WHOSOEVER of any person in the world who BELIEVES in his name might have eternal life in the world to come)

Romans 5:9. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from WRATH through him. (So then, what we are saved FROM in the wrath of God, being CONDEMNED, and the SECOND death in the lake of fire on the final Day of Judgment)

Romans 5:10. For if, when we were enemies, we were RECONCILED to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. (In other words, the RIGHTEOUS LIFE of Jesus, is God’s GIFT to all who BELIEVE in the name of Jesus, according to the context in Romans 5:17. 

But it also means that we must overcome even as Jesus overcame for Jesus to grant us to sit on his throne to rule with him in the world to come)

Romans 5:11. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. (In other words, as we learn to walk in the light as Jesus walked in the light, we slip and fall into sin. And thus, we rejoice in the atonement that when we CONFESS our sins, God is faithful to forgive us and CLEANS us from ALL unrighteous, according to 1 John 2:2)

Romans 5:12. Wherefore, as by one man SIN entered into the world, (To sin means to miss the mark. And when we miss the mark of God’s calling, then we come short of what He requires to be found worthy to receive the GLORY that God prepared for all humans to receive) and death by sin; (Or death BECAUSE OF sin) and so death passed upon all men, FOR (Or BECAUSE) that ALL have SINNED: (Or because we all have been deceived by Satan to be LED astray by listening to his LIES to disobey our CONSCIENCE)

Romans 5:13. (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is NOT IMPUTED when there is no law. 

Romans 5:14. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.”

In other words, sin and death had more INFLUENCE over man from Adam to the Law of Moses. It is the Devil who has the POWER of DEATH, according to Hebrews 2:12. And the Devil SINNED long before God ever created Adam and Eve, according to Psalm 8:1-6.

So then, the phrase “SIN ENTERED the world” means that Adam and Eve was a TEST. Not a test so that God could judge humans, but rather, it was a test to judge Lucifer and the fallen angel.

For you see, according to Psalm 8:1-6, God made man and the Son of MAN, Jesus, a little LOWER than the angels BECAUSE of His ENEMIES, so that Yahweh might STILL the enemy, the avenger. And thus, the TEST to see is Adam would obey or disobey was actually for the angels to see who the TRUTHFUL God is and who is the LYING god.

Once Christians know and understand that Lucifer accused God of creating him flawed or with a SINFUL NATURE to REBEL, then they will stop BLAMING God for all of the EVIL in the world. 

The truth of the matter is that Satan polluted God’s name by falsely accusing God saying that it was God’s FAULT for him and one third of the angels waging a WAR against the authority of Yahweh’s throne.

And that is WHY God created the Son of MAN, Jesus, a little LOWER or inferior to the angels. So then, the TEST was to prove to the angels that if an inferior creation of God can live WITHOUT SIN, then God’s NAME or the Creator’s polluted character of being a so-called “faulty” creator would be CLEARED. I believe that Adam lived for quite some time without sin. I mean, to me, Adam did not name all of the animals overnight. So you have to wonder if Lucifer, or rather now called Satan, the Devil, and the serpent, became worried that he was going to be proven a LIAR.

And thus, Satan BEGUILED Eve to disobey God in order to try to save his own neck from being judged guilty as charged. For you see, according to Matthew 25:35, God PREPARED the everlasting fire FOR the Devil and his angels. And it was Satan who deceives people for hell to be ENLARGED, according to Isaiah 5:13-15.

But that MEAN MAN, speaking of the antichrist, and that MIGHTY MAN, speaking of Satan, shall descend into hell for 1000-years before he is loosed for a little season to wage his final war against God and His people. The mean man is a mortal human being, but the mighty man is translated from a different Hebrew word that means extant or existing.

So then, the SIN the ENTERED into the world was that Satan was allowed to CONTINUE to tempt mankind in order to prove that with God’s HELP even an inferior creation of the Creator can live WITHOUT rebelling against God. In other words, seeing that Satan interfered FIRST, then to even the test to be fair, God was allowed to HELP man.

We can see God helping Adam and Eve when He killed two animals to make clothes to cover their SHAME or condemnation of being naked. We see God helping Cain trying to get Cain to rule over the temptation of Satan to murder his brother. And we see God helping Noah by warning him to build the ark to be saved from the flood, which GRIEVED God to his heart to have to destroy the wicked that CORRUPTED themselves.

Now, those who teach the Sin Nature doctrine also use Genesis 5:3, which says that the children of Adam were made in his own LIKENESS and after his image.

Genesis 5:3.

“And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:”

And they “INTERPRET” this verse to mean that since Adam was a SINNER, then his children MUST have had to be BORN as SINNERS in Adam’s OWN LIKENESS and after his IMAGE of being a sinner. How else can one explain why Cain murdered Abel?

But Abel was RIGHTEOUS according to Jesus himself in Matthew 23:35.

Matthew 23:35.

“That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom you slew between the temple and the altar.”

So then, seeing that Abel was capable of being RIGHTEOUS before God, I do not see any so-called SINFUL NATURE in any children of Adam except for Cain who LISTENED to the LIES of Satan. And that hatred that rose up and GREW stronger toward his brother Abel did not exist until Cain was an adult and he listened to the voice of the ENEMY.

So, NO! Romans 5:12 does NOT prove that ANY human is BORN with a sinful NATURE. But rather, every human being LEARNS to walk in righteousness. And sadly, some people LEARN to corrupt their own minds and harden their own hearts to SIN against their conscience.

And the TRUTH of the matters is that every man has sinned at some point in the life, we all have FALLEN short of the glory of God BECAUSE we all have SINNED at one time or another in our life.

And it was Satan, the DEVIL who entices us to SIN.

Now sadly, Christadelphian Christians do NOT believe that Satan, the Devil, is a REAL literal BEING. And the Christadelphian Christians ALSO wrongly believe, as well as, some other church denominations, that God created EVIL and that Yahweh is the CAUSE of all of the EVIL in the world. 

Plus, Christadelphian Christians, as well as other church denominations such as the Roman Catholic Church, sincerely, but wrongly believe in the FALSE doctrine or original sin. And thus, they build their other man-made doctrines upon the false doctrine of every person being born with a so-called sinful NATURE.

Again, once Christians understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands. 

And that you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels. 

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
