We Are NOT BORN With a NATURE to SIN!

The purpose of this Verse Study on Romans 8:3 is to show my readers why the Bible ITSELF does NOT teach us that we are BORN with a NATURE to SIN. For you see, some Christians wrongly teach that we are born with a SINFUL nature and that ONLY Jesus can live without sin. 

And thus, some of those Christians do not fight against and resist sin in FAITH. In other words, they do not believe that it is possible to overcome sin and live without sin. 

Why would Jesus say in John 8:11 to go and sin no more if it was not possible to stop sinning?

Why would the Apostle John say in 1 John 3:3-11 that whosoever abides in Jesus does not sin, and if you do sin, then you do not understand Jesus, nor do you know him?

And why would the Apostle Peter say in 1 Peter 2:21-23 that Jesus, who did not sin, is our example to follow, if it is not possible to stop sinning?

If it is not possible to live without sin, then why are we warned that if we continue to live in sin, then we will not inherit the kingdom of God, according to 1 Corinthians 6:9,10, Galatians 5:18-25, and Revelation 22:14,15 plus many other verses of Scripture?

So then, let us begin this study in God’s word by reading Romans 8:3 from a few different translations to get a fuller meaning of the Greek words in the original text.

Romans 8:3 from the Common English Bible.

“God has done what was impossible for the Law, since it (Speaking of the Law of Moses) was weak because of selfishness. God condemned sin in the body by sending His own Son to deal with sin in the SAME body as humans, who are controlled by sin.”

Here we see that Jesus had the SAME kind of human body as we all have. And thus, if we are born with a so-called SINFUL NATURE, then so was Jesus.

For you see, Isaiah 42:1-9 clearly teaches us that God called Jesus to walk in righteousness and promised to hold his hand and HELP him.

Isaiah 42:6.

“I the LORD have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, (Or I will guard you, protect you, and watch over you) and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;”

And that same promise is given to all believers in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, according to Isaiah 41:10.

Romans 8:3 from the Common English Bible.

“The written law was made weak by the power of sin. But God did what the written law could not do. He made his Son to be like those who live under the power of sin. God sent him to be an offering for sin. Jesus suffered God’s judgment against our sin.”

“God did something the law could never do. You see, human flesh took its toll on God’s law. In and of itself, the law is not weak; but the flesh weakens it. So to condemn the sin that was ruling in the flesh, God sent His own Son, bearing the likeness of sinful flesh, as a sin offering.”

In other words, Jesus had the SAME EXACT WEAK fleshly human NATURE that every human being has been born with from the womb.

Jesus was TEMPTED to sin in every way that we are TEMPTED by Satan, the Devil. And thus, it is NOT our so-called human NATURE that causes us to sin.

But rather, it is the SEDUCING evil spirits that ENTICE us to sin. Neither Adam NOR Eve LUSTED after the flesh UNTIL Satan came and TEMPTED Eve by speaking seducing LIES to her mind.

The TRUTH of the matter is that we were not BORN as sinners with a sinful nature, but rather, after we reached the age of accountability, we all sinned by being TEMPTED or enticed to sin as we listened to the lies of the enemy.

Romans 3:13.

“For all have SINNED, and come short of the glory of God;”

In other words, we BECAME short of that glory of God LATER after we SINNED and NOT when we were BORN!

It does NOT say that we were BORN short of the glory of God. The Greek word translated as come short carries the meaning of LATER. So then, there was a time from the moment we were born to the time BEFORE we sinned that we were NOT come or fallen short of the glory of God. Otherwise, no baby that dies can be saved, because babies and young children do not have the ability to have FAITH to be saved.

From G5306; to be later, that is, (by implication) to be inferior; genitively to fall short (be deficient): – come behind (short), be destitute, fall, lack, suffer need, (be in) want, be the worse.

The Apostle Paul teaches us that there was a TIME that he was ALIVE before spiritual death came and he died spiritually dead in his sins.

Romans 7:9.

“For I was ALIVE without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, (Or sin REVERSED life) and I DIED.”

The Apostle Paul also teaches is in Romans 2:14,15 that the Gentiles who do NOT have the Law of Moses show the works of keeping the law because they have the law of God written in their CONSCIENCE. 

But just like the Jews do not always obey the Law of Moses completely every time, the Gentiles do not always obey their conscience completely every time.

Romans 2:14,15.

“For when the Gentiles, which have NOT the law, do by NATURE the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: (Now, if it was true that we are BORN with a sinful NATURE as some Christians CLAIM, then it would not be POSSIBLE to OBEY the law in our conscience by NATURE)

Romans 2:15. Which SHOW the WORK of the law (By NATURE) WRITTEN in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, (In other words, they had no condemnation in their conscience while they were obeying their conscience) and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)”

So then, the TRUTH of the matter is that we are BORN innocent and pure. And then, Satan tempts, seduces, entices, and deceives us to sin. And thus, ALL flesh CORRUPTS themselves, according to Genesis

Genesis 6:12.

“And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; FOR (Or BECAUSE) ALL flesh had CORRUPTED his way upon the earth.”

And that is the TRUE sound Biblical God intended meaning of Romans 3:8, when it is correctly translated and correctly interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

No human is BORN with a sinful NATURE, but rather, we LEARN to corrupt our own minds and harden our own hearts to SIN against of conscience to FALL short of the glory of God BECAUSE we all have SINNED at one time or another in our life.

Please read the Verse Study on Colossians 3:5 to learn HOW some people come into a more WORLDLY NATURE than other people.

And it was Satan, the DEVIL who entices us to SIN.

Now sadly, Christadelphian Christians do NOT believe that Satan, the Devil, is a REAL literal BEING. And the Christadelphian Christians ALSO wrongly believe, as well as, some other church denominations, that God created EVIL and that Yahweh is the CAUSE of all of the EVIL in the world. 

Plus, Christadelphian Christians, as well as other church denominations such as the Roman Catholic Church, sincerely, but wrongly believe in the FALSE doctrine or original sin. And thus, they build their other man-made doctrines upon the false doctrine of every person being born with a so-called sinful NATURE.

Again, once Christians understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands. 

And that you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels. 

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
