Jesus BECAME the Author of Our Faith!

The TRUE Meaning of Hebrew 12:2!

In Hebrews 5:9, we learn that Jesus was MADE perfect or made COMPLETE. And from Acts 13 we learn WHEN the Son of MAN was REGENERATED or BEGOTTEN to BECOME the “eternal” Son of God. It was on the very DAY that God resurrected His human Son from the dead and GAVE him eternal life. And that is when Jesus BECAME the AUTHOR of eternal salvation for all who OBEY the words of Jesus.

Hebrews 5:5-15.

“So also, Christ (The ANOINTED servant of Almighty God, according to the prophecy in Isaiah 42:1-9)

glorified NOT himself to be MADE an high priest; but He that said (Or PROPHESIED) unto him, You are My Son, TODAY have I BEGOTTEN you. (Or more correctly translated, Today I have REGENERATED you)

Hebrews 5:6. As he said also in another place, you are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. 

Hebrews 5:7. Who in the days of his FLESH, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; 

Hebrews 5:8. Though he were a Son, (Speaking of God’s HUMAN Son during the days of his FLESH) yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; (And a more correct translation is “Nevertheless, he being a Son learned obedience through the things that he suffered.” And Hebrews 2:8 teaches us that the Soon of MAN, Jesus suffered by being TEMPTED. And one of the things that Jesus was TEMPTED with was NOT wanting to suffer and die on the cross. But he overcame his own will and OBEYED the will of his God and Father FOR the joy that Yahweh SET before him, according to Hebrews 12:2) 

Hebrews 5:9.  And being MADE PERFECT, he BECAME the AUTHOR of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; 

Hebrews 5:10. Called of God a high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 5:11. Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing you are dull of hearing. (And it is true that SOME Trinitarian Christians, along with SOME Oneness Pentecostal Christians, are dull in their hearing about the TRUE Jesus that the Bible ITSELF teaches us)

Hebrews 5:12. For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have the need that one teaches you again which are the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.” 

A cross reference of the word “oracles” of God will lead you to Acts 7:37,38, which is where the Stephen preached about Moses prophesying that God would raise up a PROPHET, and him you shall hear. Stephen is quoting the PROPHECY of Jesus found in Deuteronomy 18:15-19.

But for now, let us get back to CONSIDERING Jesus, who FOR the joy set before him ENDURED the cross.

The context of Hebrews 12:2 extends back into chapter 11 where we see those in the Old Testament received a good report through their faith. But they have not yet received the PROMISE, speaking of the promise of being MADE PERFECT or made COMPLETE in the prefect IMAGE of Yahweh. 

In other words, the saints in heaven have not yet been GLORIFIED with their new IMMORTAL bodies of flesh and bone like Jesus was GLORIFIED with after the cross and resurrection.

You see, Jesus also promised that he would grant those of us who OVERCOME even as he OVERCAME to sit on his throne during the world to come.

Revelation 3:21,22.

“To him that OVERCOMES will I grant to sit WITH me in my throne, even as I ALSO OVECAME, and am set down WITH my Father in His throne. (This was part of the joy that Yahweh the Father set before Jesus to ENDURE the cross)

Revelation 3:22. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.”

And the context following Hebrews 12:2 is about overcoming sin. So then, what we are to CONSIDER concerning Jesus is the REWARD that he received FOR OVERCOMING the world to do all of the will of his God and Father, even to die on the cross.

Philippians 2:8-11.

“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 

Philippians 2:9. WHEREFORE, (Or for this very REASON of Jesus loving righteousness and hating evil) God ALSO has HIGHLY EXALTED him, (The Son of MAN, Jesus) and has GIVEN him a NAME which is above every name: (Speaking of the NEW NAME that Yahweh prophesied or PROMISED to give to His Messiah in Isaiah 62:2-5,)

Philippians 2:10. THAT (Or God GAVE His human Son a NEW NAME in order THAT) at the NAME of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (Or more correctly translated, “So that at the NAME of Jesus every knee should bow, the ALL in heaven, the ALL on earth, and the ALL under the earth”, speaking of the dead and also Satan and the fallen angels will be made to BOW their knee to the NAME given to Jesus after the cross and resurrection)

Philippians 2:11. And that every tongue should CONFESS that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

So then, the NEW NAME of title of Jesus is “Lord”. Jesus was made Lord of the Sabbath, which is the 1000 year-long seventh day of Yahweh’s REST in the RULING of His Messiah over the earth during the world to come.

Now read the last part of Hebrews 12:2 again so that you can see that the joy set before Jesus to ENDURE the cross was the PROMISE of God to SEAT him on His throne at His right hand.

Hebrews 12:2 c.

“…and is set down (Or is SEATED down) at the right hand of the throne of God.”

And when we cross reference the word “joy” we are led to Psalm 16:9-11, Isaiah 53:11,12, Isaiah 62:2-5, Hebrews 2:5-8, Acts 2:25-28, Psalm 110:1-7, and many other passages of Scripture.

And those verses lead us to Hebrews 1:8.9, Psalm 17:15, and Jeremiah 23:6.

And Yahweh did all of this to STILL His ENEMIES, according to Psalm 8:1-6.

Let us go ahead and read Psalm 8:1-6. The words that I emphasize in orange refer to Yahweh, Almighty God the Father. The words that I highlight is yellow refer to the Son of MAN, Jesus, BEFORE God highly exalted him and gave him a NEW NAME that is higher the every other name, according to Philippians 2:8-11.

And the words that I highlight in blue refer to the TRUTH and to the GLORIFIED Son of MAN, Jesus, after the cross and resurrection. In other words, Psalm 8:1-6 is a PROPHECY of the Messiah and WHY God created MAN and the Son of MAN.

Psalm 8:1-6.

“To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David. O LORD our Lord, (Or more correctly translated in the LITERAL translation from the Textus Receptus, Yahweh, Lords of us) how excellent is Your NAME in all the earth! Who has set Your glory above the heavens. (In other words, the Son of MAN, Jesus, gave glory to his God and Father during his ministry. And as a reward for the OBEDIENCE of the human Son of God, Yahweh gave Jesus a NEW NAME and MADE him Lord over the earth for 1000 years during the world to come, according to Acts 2:36, Isaiah 58:8, Hebrews 12:2, Acts 2:28, Psalm 21:6, and Psalm 17:15) 

Psalm 8:2.  Out of the mouth of babes and suckling have You ordained strength BECAUSE of Your enemies, that You might STILL the ENEMY and the AVENGER. (Speaking of Satan and the fallen angels, the false accusers of the brethren, but mainly, the blasphemers of Yahweh’s character of being a Creator of good)

Psalm 8:3.  When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; 

Psalm 8:4,  What is MAN, that You are mindful of him? And the Son of MAN, that You visitest him? (And, according to Isaiah 50:4-7, Yahweh visited the Son of MAN, Jesus, morning by morning to TEACH him that the Scriptures prophesied of him)

Psalm 8:5.  For You have MADE him a little LOWER than the angels, (In other words, God created or made MAN and the Son of MAN, Jesus, LOWER or inferior to the angels) AND have CROWNED him with glory and honor. (To be made Lord over the earth for 1000 years during the word to come for a REASON. And that reason for created a new species of beings called the HUMAN a little LOWER that God previous creation of the angels is for God to JUDGE Lucifer, aka Satan, and the fallen angels guilty as charged by the MAN who He ordained and raised from the dead, according to Acts 17:29-31)

Psalm 8:6.  You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet:”

The Hebrew word translated as “to STILL your enemies” means to rid His enemies, to put down or remove His enemies. And it also carries the meaning of taking away the credibility of the enemy’s accusation against Yahweh. Keep in mind that God’s NAME or character has been polluted or profaned by His enemy, the avenger, according to Isaiah 48:11, and Psalm 74:10.
